Keeping with the day-two theme, a couple guys asked about how I mounted the Mallory coil. I didn't want to drill any holes in the firewall so I used some existing holes for the wire gutter to attach this coil (and resistor).

One of the challenges was keeping the TCS relay switch in the stock position and accomodating it behind the coil, so I designed the mount so the coil would be about an inch off of the firewall. This design also allowed me to easily bolt the coil and resistor to my new mount...</span></span>

Back in the 70's when I bought the coil for my Mallory dual point, Super Shops store told me to mount it at an angle so the &quot;Mallory&quot; name was level. This was to keep to oil inside the coil from uncovering the internal contacts during cornering. Anyone ever hear of this?

Greg - that is a real nice set up you had there under your hood.

Never heard that one before. Suppose that logic of <span style="font-style: italic">&quot;at an angle so the &quot;Mallory&quot; name was level&quot;</span> would work if you spent a lot of time on surpentine roads or a circle track.

Mystery solved. I got a pm from Al Corporon (AlsV8vair) today, saying he thought he knew who manufactured my Nova's traction bars. He then forwarded a catalog page (looks to be a '71 version) and photo from <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">Drag Dimensions Limited </span></span>of Downsview Canada. The catalog scan has a detailed blow up of the adjustable snubber. The Roofs remembered the bars were white and I'd say Schonye &amp; co. nailed the original product look. The bars were put on the Deuce just after they bought the car in 1970.
