Diego is correct. The 72 GTO in the Musclecar Review article had its rear wing installed much later (1980's), but it is a real GM rear spoiler. I guess technically, it's not a factory freak. The ducktail spoiler is reproduced now, so you sometimes see them at car shows on a 71 or 72 Lemans/GTO.

I don't know what happened to this 66 GTO, but this was the car Pontiac used in their original 1966 ad. It's wearing 8-lug wheels, which were never available on a GTO.

I read in Glory Days that Deloren wanted the 8 lugs for the GTO but the supplier could not get the wheels to the price point to make it economical.

Were the wheels on the GP 14 or 15 inch wheels?

----All factory 8-lugs were 14s but Ive heard that someone out there is now making 15 inch rims, and I know of guys who have cobbled 15 inch rims, but not many.....Bill S

I don't know if this would be considered a factory freak or not.... but it very well might be 1 of 1. I own a '67 Grand Prix... 400, 4 speed, 3.42 posi, 8 lugs, gauges, AM-FM w/reverb, console, headrests with MANUAL STEERING and BRAKES. The car is still wearing its original paint. I purchased the car from the original owners son. The car was special ordered as an ALL MANUAL car. I have the original order sheet and sales contract. With the exception of some Pennsylvania rust its very well preserved as it was garaged pretty much all of its life. Another oddity on this car.... being it was sold new in Pennsylvania... the parking lights are below the bumper... not in the normal '67 GP location.

excuse the dirt on the interior pic.... it was the day after I bought it and hadn't got around to cleaning it up... BTW that is the original paint

My dad special ordered a brand new '67 2+2.... 428, 4 speed, 3.73 posi.... it was the 1st car that I ever rode in.
