Re: Day 2 parts discussion
LOL.
They went on the day after the car was delivered, so i guess they are "birthday-matched" versus "born-with." |
Re: Day 2 parts discussion
Drove to the local cruise night with those tires on last night - never went over 40 mph with those "plastified" rear tires. Here's a close up of the rim. It's a 15x7 but it looks to have a big offset to it - very deep dished.

Steve
Krylon #1403 Dull Aluminum is the exact match to the original Cragar paint that was fogged in the lug nut pockets. Only comes in spray cans so you will have to transfer that to an airbrush. A little bit of paint remover and resprayed would look a lot better than the black. |
Re: Day 2 parts discussion
Thanks for the tip!
That flat black would come off with carb cleaner, no big deal. Kinda looks like an old "Hot Wheels" car with the blacked out lug area. http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t..._CapWheels.jpg http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t...268c/H2926.jpg |
Re: Day 2 parts discussion
Here is another nos wheel, albeit dirty. This one has more paint than the other wheel I posted above but gives you an indication on how they looked. I have seem em with little paint and really thick paint with wide coverage. Quality control was not exactly the best back then.

http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/S7007177.jpg Steve, Take it for what it is worth. You WILL miss this car. You'd be fool to sell. While I am not a died in the wool Mopar guy, cars like this do not represent themselvs. Just my stupid opinion. Great stablemate to that turd Pontiac you have! Re: Day 2 parts discussion
Was looking at some old pics I had scanned in. Here is my wife's Duster when it was sporting 295/50/15 with stock springs and spring location, stock rear and unmodified wheel wells. These were on an 8" aluminum Cragar wheel with the perfect offset. Don't know if you can zoom in, but when you do it on photobucket you can really see what I'm talking about!
We later did a inboard spring kit and were running a 10" wide wheel. I could only dream of fitting those on a Chevy! http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/w...Tx/duster2.jpg |
