Coming from Iowa

Looks like I will be bringing the old Mustang race car and a 69 Yenko from the bosses collection.

I believe you can add John Jensen to the list. I know he has a room booked.

Very cool. We are going to load up the 67 Yenko and bring it to the show prior to starting it’s restoration in August .... Frank Arone will be there from Arone restoration to answer any restoration questions or tips

I guess I’m about speechless. I mean, last night I’m in the ole recliner taking in some Q time with family. Next thing I know, I get a text from Pusherman ( Kasey). He has a link to the post from MASCARS (Scott) offering a room to SCR21. I don’t have a ready car, I don’t have trailer, if I did. I really don’t have money to go to every event that I would like to attend, so I just dismissed the idea. Several members inquired if I was going to SCR. I said no. Now CWC (Chris) is texting me, urging me to go. Then, D.W.Cook. So I reply to the offer. Next thing you know, I am making preparations to head out to Bowling Green in the morn! Amazing site because of amazing and generous guys. This morn, enter Doug Perry. He gets involved and perhaps the liaison that got my request considered? R68GTO (Rat’s Nest aka Jim L. ) he asked if I was going, and Freddie. So many to show my gratitude. Along with my Ky., Tn., Oh. Buddies that pushed and encouraged me to attend, thank you. To Scott Tedro & Doug Perry for making a wish a reality, thank you. To Tom Clary, a visionary that I thank that this event exists, and a host of guys I will get to know and later thank for the opportunity, and anyone else missed, thank you. Bentley.

SO .... BBBentley .... I guess we'll see ya there? .... Hell I am not in any position yet to own one of these cars but last year I attended for work after helping these guys get some sponsorship for a few years prior. I was so shocked by the hospitality that this year i am coming for vacation. To many cool people to not come back. Hope to see you there

Thanks, Craig. Yes, cars are great, but, like yourself, the cool guys are my reason to go. Kind of hard to explain, but growing up, my only exposure to world of motor sports was to catch the Indy 500 on the “Wide World of Sports” on ABC? I did, also, go to the “World of Wheels” custom car show, an indoor car show during the winter months. I say this because drag racing and related might as well have been in a foreign country. My family did not do that kind of stuff. I feel I must have been switched at birth (joke). When I see televised races and events and people have motorhomes and make it a family whole week event, I feel a disconnect , because I have never had the means to do such. It took some pushing by close friends, when I was in my 20s, to attend the U.S.Nationals in Indy. I have faithfully gone since. I have never been to a Super Chevy, GoodGuys, Hershey, Carlisle, etc. I have gone to 1 NASCAR race, an Indy 500 and an ARCA race a few dirt tracks. i also take in the Holley Hot Rod reunion in BG (because this is my passion) It was hard to think of myself as someone who could actually take in an event. I was brought up to be a tv spectator only. Because I was wholly dedicated to my family (I’m sure many on here are)and there was a guilt of spending while the family all stayed home. Since hitting my 50s and understanding mortality more clearly, I realize life won’t wait for my readiness and I better do these things while health allows. Now that I have been “nudged” to take in this event, it may become a must attend. I am hopeful. I don’t expect guys to understand this logic. If money and transportation were not finite factors, I could traverse the country all year long and take in a few events every week. I’m truly blessed with talent, possessions and friends. Looking forward to this.

Tim Meredith was with me last year in his '66 Nova. He broke his car on Power Tour this year and won't be bringing it, but he offered to haul my car for me in his enclosed trailer so it won't get dirty. He's going to be at my house at 6:30 Friday morning to load it up. Seems like most of the people who are involved with these cars are willing to help any time they can.
