Hope you all are being safe. I've been trying my hand at selling parts online to raise money for more important things than my car. I've also been enjoying family time with our son Jeremiah who just turned 1.
The engine has been coming along slowly since I was indecisive on which block to use, and my engine builder just got back from a long overdue vacation. Good news is the engine is now coming along. |

Engine builder said he has finished one side of the block. The rotating assembly, balancer, flywheel, clutch, just got sent to the balancer. I forgot to mention I found this under the rear set. Pretty cool to see a US flag not made in china.

Interesting star pattern on the flag!

Engine builder sent me a few pics today. The machining is done, and everything is balanced. Time for assembly!

Update: Engine builder is on another vacation but states engine will get on a stand this week. My build is getting a little less sleeper but the goal will remain to appear unassuming from the exterior.
Scored this roll bar removed from a '68z and I'm pumped about it. Anyone know about the Hobrecht brand? Sticker says "Hobrecht Roll Bars & Stuff". What other stuff did they make? I'm going to install the roll bar as is to match the look of the car until paint. I'm not too concerned about modifying the rear seat frame for the roll bar as I already have to modify the frame for the tubs. I've also decided to run the Hush Thrush Turbo's I had for sale and I'm just going to bolt them up as is after reading that's how it was done. More updates hopefully soon! |
Awesome!

Bill Thomas has Hobrecht roll bars listed in his 1970 catalog. Do you see a part number stamped on this one? The bar you have does not look like one that would fit a Camaro floor pan so it's interesting that you say it came out of a '68 Z.
