Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
I am very familiar with BoeShield T-9. I want to also recommend
a comparable product called FLUID FILM. FLUID FILM has a unique woolwax(lanolin)formula containing no solvents to evaporate. Always active, it will not become tacky, providing long lasting protection to all metals. FLUID FILM has been independantly lab tested for 7 weeks and was found to be far superior to other products. Unfortunately this lab test did not include BoeShield T-9. Check out www.fluid-film.com for those that believe my recommendation. Yes I am a dealer. I would deliver aeresol cans at the 2011 MCACN, at my cost if I could get 12 pre-paid orders to cover the product and shipping of one case to the show. |
Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
We put the exhaust on the car today, there are a few differences in the rear hangers. One difference is quite significant as it actually causes the hanger to sit lower by approx 1/2".
Does anyone else have original exhaust hangers off an Early Chambered car? Here are the originals and repro's shown together... Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
GARDNER...
I have a call into them & I am sure they will make it right, however I wanted to see if anyone else has some EARLY originals to compare. |
Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
James - my guess is the Gardner boys will want to correct their design if you can provide them with a correct original piece to go from. good luck. let us know.

Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
James,
whats the build/vin of your z? I should have those hangers off my car. Dan |
Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
I let Eric know I had the originals and offered them before the system was built as we discussed the white belting. I had no idea, (I'm betting that they didn't know either) the arched rubber piece was a difference in hangers.
Dan, 10D Fisher Body date - Chevrolet finished first week of Nov. I think your car is a few days earlier... wish this one had your interior! BTW Eric Gardner asked if I had the clamps from the over axle hangers, I didn't, if you do have them we would like to know if they are as indicated in the assembly manual (strap type) or if they are the standard type clamp. Thanks James |

Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
There was a Dusk Blue on blue std 11c or 11d I missed a few years ago... 547xxx was the Vin. I should have followed up as I could have bought it right... real right. Even though all the drive train was gone and it needed a total resto it had the original paint and stripes, 4 original dated AD's, white cowl, 2 pc rotors, off white molded silver grille etc.
It showed up on the CRG right after I missed it and I confirmed it as the real deal for the guy out of Ohio. |
Re: 1969 Z28 Restoration
James, give me a bit to dig out the hangers and I will post what I have. I'm 10D too.
