Motor Wheel Spyders wanted

Looking for a set in 4-1/2" (Ford/Mopar) bolt pattern. Prefer 14" set. Complete wheels or just centercaps or whatever you got. Looking to put them on my current project.

Here's an example of what I'm looking for:

Thanks, NJSteve

Those will look sweet on the Lincoln!

Didn’t occur to me that they will fit the Lincoln, too. ;-)

Doesn't the Lincoln have 5 on 5 bolt pattern?

1971 was a weird year and as far as I recall it was still the small bolt pattern. You can find the 5 on 5 pattern Spyder mags all day. The 4-1/2” sets are harder to locate.

i have seen a few on ebay in the past couple months. I was looking for 5 on 4 3/4 GM so i didn't pay much attention.

There’s a Mopar 4-1/2” set with lugnuts, in Texas on eBay at the moment. I must have annoyed the guy too much by asking relevant questions so he blocked me from bidding!

For Example:

Question: What direction thread are the lug-nuts? Left hand or right hand?

(Since this is a mopar application it is relevant since they have left handed threaded studs on the drivers side of the car. The tapered cone lug-nuts are unique to Spyder mags and very hard to find.)

Answer: “how would I know?”

I love these wheels... I thought they were the ugliest thing when I first saw them on a Yenko Deuce Nova but they really grew on me... I have a nice set for my car (GM bolt pattern)...

I actually found a set of center caps and correct lug nuts. A mad scientist/expert machinist up in Wisconson made a few sets of exact reproductions, several years ago and had a leftover set just waiting for me. The center caps are made of chrome-plated brass instead of potmetal so they wont ever corrode and the left and right handed lug nuts are made from steel and machined to match the originals with their unique design. They were just slightly cheaper than NOS caps and lugnuts.

They should be here in the next few days.

Now I just need to find the actual rims.

Steve:

I am going to be in Dallas Sat. for a wedding. His ad says "local pick up available"

I can buy them and you can reimburse me. I haven't pissed him off yet.

Send me a pm if interested.

Lynn
