I had one of those - bought it new to put a 350/350 in. Used a Don Hardy kit cause the counter guy at
Motion was an a-hole!
Took delivery in Feb '74 right in the middle of the oil embargo - took real brains to pull out a 4cyl at that time!

I was living in Queens Village at the time and destroyed it on the city streets in no time!

Here's a shot the day I brought it home from Rupp in Lynbrook.

Re: Scene (seen) on the Street

This car was given to my brother-in-law by his dad in the late 70's . it was a beat up car when he got it . he was 14 at the time and had two years before getting his license.

The car was his mothers and when she was done with it , it bacame a project for him. good way to keep your kid occupied.
He named it Second Chance.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ondchance1.jpg

Then years down the road my wife got it for her 18th birthday . when we met in high school in the eighties this is what it looked like and we drove it everyday back then.

Re: Scene (seen) on the Street

Here's an interesting little car. My brother-in-law bought this a few months ago from a guy who'd been working on it since the 70's. It has a Mopar 318 in it, with auto trans. Have a look at the metal work. That's a Torino hood scoop grafted onto the hood, and it's all metal. The fenders and quarters have been massaged slightly to give it a more aggressive look, and the wheels are 70's era slots. It has faded crushed velvet door panels, and other period modifications. I don't know how long it sat unfinished, but the paint has just been done in the last month. It needs to be tuned and the brakes done, but it looks like it's going to be a fun little cruiser. Something out of the ordinary anyway.

I stopped by a car show at an auto body shop this past Sun. There was a Ford Torino there with a 1ft tall rubber ET on the air cleaner AND a 10" tall Yoda leaning on the front of the radiator. NO rubber Cobra snakes; just movie dolls on the car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif
OF course, I've also seen velvet Elviss (Elvi?) leaning against cars too. What are they THINKING!?!?!?!?! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif
