Oldsmobile Ads

1 Attachment(s)
The purpose of this thread is to post collection of Vintage Oldsmobile advertisements. I will make this sticky so it stays at the top. I will start it off but encourage everyone to post in this thread.

Here is a Motion- Markowitz Olds Ad from Cars magazine.

Discrimination is against the law now

I’ll dig through my old magazines and see what I can come up with. My first thought is the 1972 Indy 500 centerfold of the Hurst Olds.

Ralph Spears 12-20-2022 09:37 PM

I have many old ads to post but this is the only forum that i am not able to figure out how to post pictures

That was for '64 because an automatic was not available, in '65 when automatic was available they said it was,

4 BBL
400 ci
2 Dual exhaust.

Yes it is but it's a replacement for yours. As I explained, all your photos were dim so I couldn't use them.

The last pic is a shirt the dealership just had made that they gave out to all the employees for Christmas. I had no idea they making them…big surprise to see my car!

The 1965 Dodge Charger II Concept Car. It was a hit at the auto shows with its fastback body lines. Being a show/concept car means it doesn't have to follow all the D.O.T. laws like bumpers and headlights as you can see from this next photo.

https://www.yenko.net/forum/cache.ph...AxRU5XY_o.jpeg

Here's a better shot of the front:

https://www.yenko.net/forum/cache.ph...TNywt0mk_o.jpg

Dodge decided based on the overwhelming acceptance of the show car to add a new model to it's line up: The Charger.

https://www.yenko.net/forum/cache.ph...SRWLsy5_o.jpeg

Not that much different than the show car. One aspect was exactly the same - the interior. Same dashboard and 4 bucket seats. Concept car on top, production car on the bottom:

Introduced as a mid-year model, the new Charger did brisk sales: 37,344 units. Unfortunately the 1967 model didn't do as well. Probably because it was the same as the 66. Sales were only 15,788 units. Less than half and with a full year versus half a year.

But that would all change the following year when Dodge introduced their new 1968 model and sales went through the roof. Almost 100,000 units.

Isn't this the Oldsmobile section?:hmmm:
