Really neat car!
Nothing better than a True Survivor after 50 years! I love the engine bay photos. What is the foil on the lines/hoses? Thanks for sharing. Chris |

Saweeet!Congrats!

An L78 in original survivor condition. Definitely worth the fifteen years of patience and effort that it took to get it. Congrats Benny, and thanks for posting Bruce!
|
Benny's congratulations!! Kudos to the original owner for preserving this car and for selecting a great person to be it's next caretaker.:beers:
|
That's all I can say right now. |
Amazing car - congratulations. Would be a great to see this one at MCACN!
|
Glad it fell into a great “caretaker’s” hands. Congrats!
|
Have seen it in person. real nice complete car. Not sure who is luckier, Benny for getting the car or the car getting Benny. The Professor has a bunch of real nice cars (fast ones too) but this one is tops on the list in my opinion. Great score by the Lehighton Flash.

Great Car! Love seeing the well kept originals. As for the tin foil, we did that in the 60's to keep the fuel lines cool and anything else protected from the heat, really never new if it worked but many racers did it.
|
Congrats on your purchase. Nothing like a well preserved survivor, L78 no less! Phil Woj

Benny's COPO and this new ride has the blue interior which is all original down to the dash pads that usually have issues. Silver/blue and white/blue. Cool doings for those 2 cars. Great combo's. Like the degree tape on the balancer too.
|
Fantastic! Very cool car now in the hands of another cool owner.
Benny, ......... I'm jealous ! :biggthumpup::biggthumpup: |
Would be great to see it and the orig. owner at MCACN. He deserves recognition. Would also love to see detail pics of whatever gloss is on the tailpanel.
|
BB you da man! Very nice ride.....Congrats

BBBenny's Survivor 1969 L78 Camaro!
BBBenny: Congratulations on your purchase. I LOVE the color combo as I am an OO of a '83 Monte Carlo SS, White with blackout trim and accents, with a Blue and White interior. A real knockout survivor you have there, especially from the OO and kept in awesome condition. On the outside it bears a striking resemblance to one raced in Super Stock and Pro Stock by a certain racer from Malvern, PA!
|
Congrats Bbbenny! I echo the previous post; not sure who is luckier the car car or the new owner.
Would absolutely love to have you join us with this beauty at MCACN...you are overdue! Bashton |
Congrats on a wonderful survivor. White/blue is a great combo!
Dan |
WOWEE! What a fantastic car - congrats!
|
Tremendous find!

Hemmings Article
When Benny called me about his new car, I knew I had spoken to the owner years ago, and remember a Hemmings article. Hopefully it might make it to the MCACN this year!!!!!

69 Camaro....
I have also seen this car in person several times and have spoken with the original owner. He sort of appeared on the local scene over 10 years ago with the car...the foil wrapped fuel lines were an interesting talking point.
I had him down to our shop one day to see our L78 Novas...he was a true car guy and his car is definitely unique. Not surprised to see it in Benny's stable...since he likes the original cars so much. -wilma |
BBBBBBBBenny and the Jets.

looks like a very nice car, what part of the country was the car from?
|
The car was from the Albany, Ny. area. The car was sold out of. Bumstead Chevrolet, Troy,Ny. He ordered the car in January of 69. But the cowl hood, held the order up, didn;t get the car until May 16th of 69. BBBenny
