Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
I am looking for a set of vintage "Traction Master Company" decals that were installed on my vintage Traction Master traction bars. Has anyone seen these decals?

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
That sticker is much different than the ones I had on an NOS set a few years back. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo but it was a gold-foil starburst design.

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
My box and newspaper are dated 68....I even have the instructions. For 1968, this is the real deal. Wonder what years the one you mention were used? Interesting stuff...

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
I attempted to load my picture above but it did not load. Can either one of you PM me so I an send you my picture to post? Perhaps you can post the picture and further discussion can continue.
On a different note my picture is of a "gold - foil starburst" design. This picture was apparently from a set of 1969 vintage Traction Master bars. Perhaps there were different decals for different years??? Dave |

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Steve,
Awesome looking original 68 Traction Master Bars. I noticed that the decal on yours is not a "StarBurst" design like mine nor is the mounting the same. This would support that mine are a 69 vintage. Dave |
Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
I have one original decal listed on Ebay. I had 2 but the other sold last week.
Here is a link to the listing: Traction Master Decal Jason |

I would have thought 69 to be similar, (without it being 1969 yet) it's obvious why these only say 68. BIG |
Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
I've been looking for the Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon which is a foil over paper sticker (as mentioned above). I had contacted TM a while ago with no answer. From some bars that I've seen for sale, it appears the foil "Seal of Performance" is the earlier (early to late '60s?). I've seen a set of bolt-on at the rear spring plate (3-point) with the foil seal vs. a weld-on set that had the yellow & blue sticker. The Weld-on set was a '67+ application. There does appear to be some overlap which makes it confusing. Would like to get one foil sticker (they only put it on one bar). Some of their ads/decals say "with Gold Seal".

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Paul,
The weld on bars that I have are a 1969 vintage and apparently had the "Gold & Blue Seal- Ribbon - "Seal of Performance" sticker. You are correct it is somewhat confusing. -Dave |
Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Paul,
Do you have a clear and complete picture of the "Star Burst" / "Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon"? -Dave |
Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Dave,
This is the best I have. The lower part of the ribbon is not shown. Saved from a set I saw online. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ringclamp2.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ringclamp3.jpg Another question is when did they change the tube colors from Silver to Black? The end brackets (at least the rear) are painted copper. My set, from what I can tell, looks to have one of each. I prefer the black look. Thinking they were black by '65-'66(?). Paul |
Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Paul,
The "Star Burst"/"Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon" decal that you posted is exactly like the one I have on my 69 Camaro bars. The decals on my bars are not very visible anymore. Not even good enough to use as a template, as parts of the decal are no longer and the foil face did not stand up well against the test of time. It would be nice to find NOS decals or at least high end reproductions. My bars were black in colour under the decal. There were nicks on the bars exposing bare metal not a silver colour and the end brackets were black not copper in colour. As a result I power coated them black. I have seen other bars from the same period mounted on a 1968 camaro and the bars were black with copper colour end brackets with no decal. Steve’s bars that were posted are 1968 vintage with black bars with copper end brackets as well. Traction Master might have changed colour of the bars/end brackets and decal design in the 68/69 year. Perhaps Traction Master Co. can shed some light on the question. I tried to reach out to them without any success. Did you ever get a response from them? Dave |
Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
No return response from them. Need to contact again. My sticker is in the same shape as yours.
I've seen new '65 bars in silver with this foil sticker and '68 bars in black with either sticker. All have only one T-M sticker and believe it's on the right side bar (of bars that are built/marked per side). https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...47-19415-3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0_photo_x5.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ringclamp1.jpg Let me know if you run across a source. Thanks, Paul |

I have not been successful in locating NOS "Star Burst"/"Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon" decals. I would consider manufacturing reproductions however I would need good clear pictures of the decal complete with dimensional information.

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Have been in search of this item for sometime without any success. Called Traction Master Company but the new ownership could not help. Any suggestions?? I would think that original decals still exist where good pics could be taken along with measurements of the decal to assist in the reproduction.

Re: Traction Master Company Vintage Decals - Wanted
Gary,
The Traction Master "Gold & Blue Seal- Ribbon - "Seal of Performance" decal that I am looking for looks like this. Apparently not easy to come by and according to Traction Master were only used over a specific time frame. If I had the dimensions of the original decal with a clear front view I would make a reproduction. Thanks for the link..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...er_decal_1.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...er_decal_3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...er_decal_4.jpg |
