Never be another Burt Reynolds. Was he the best actor in the world.? debatable. Did he sell tickets at the theatre, sure did. He made fun movies, RIP

I know he has done tons of other movies ... and I am a fan of most of those movies but for me ... Him and that black and gold S/E T/A just hooked me to hot rods... He will always be the Bandit in my eyes. Between him and Gleason with their smart mouths i am quite sure i got that from them as well. Bandit out... EASTBOUND and DOWN 10 / 10 on the side Rest In a Pontiac sir..

Sad news. By coincidence there was a double-bill of Smokey I and II on TV last night and I ended up watching them both again for the first time in many years, probably since I was a teenager. Still remember being in awe of the black T/A.....
I think Buford T Justice was the surprise star of those movies, but Reynolds was perfectly cast in the Bandit role. RIP.

I remember going to see Smokey and the Bandit when I was 7 years old with my Father in the cinema. Of course, being 7, I didn't get the humor in the movie but I do remember my father laughing so hard he was crying at some of the scenes.

RIP Burt....

That was awesome. There are a few from Johnny Carson where it got out of control!

Mr. Chevy 09-11-2018 12:26 AM

That was great...

I miss Jay on the Tonight Show...

Burt was a likable actor with some cheese but not all is so serious is it? was sad seeing him later in life not near as big as he was but lovable to the end. Mr70 somebody had alot of time on their hands - almost as good as Lego Blues Brothers(google that and check it out if you haven't seen it.
Burt, rest in peace you'll be missed
