Looking at the vin number which starts with 11<span style="font-weight: bold">427</span>94, leads us to believe this could be one of the 3 mystery Nova cars reportedly built with a ZL1 All Aluminum 427 engine....we don't have any paperwork so we can't be positive this really is one of those &quot;Mystery&quot; Nova ZL1 cars.

Gotta agree . . . . . . I really like the car also but these bullshXX stories that these owners/dealers/whoever cook up are just beyond ridiculous. But what a cool car: great color (to some people), aluminum Rat Motor with a 4-Speed and even air conditioning . . . . . . what a fun summer car that would be!

Well, gee, I guess my grandmother's 75 Firebird is one of the three mystery 426 Hemi Firebird Espirits they made in 1975 because it has a 426 in the VIN.

And to think all these years I thought that was a Pontiac 350 under the hood. I guess I should pop the hood and take a look now.

Stay Tuned!

I sent the guy a nice email suggesting he might want to remove that claim and he responded with an obnoxious critique of my spelling skills.

Have at him!

Feel free to send all the questions you want to his ebay ad. Of course, only serious questions only.

Re: Another COPO Nova

Maybe I am wrong, but to the best of my knowledge there was never (3) rumored ZL1 Novas ever thought to have been produced. I guess it is such a mystery that noone knows about it.

Moron sellers like this really tarnish true history by applying such a thick layer of bs over what is known and truthful.

I don't see what the big problem is..I know there were definitely 3 of these cars produced...I have one ...Tibor has the other and this guy on Ebay has the 3rd. I know mine is real, because I bought it from Cumby and Kenny got his from Howie

And...as a bonus...they include a picture of a Chevelle in the ad as well! (Notice the stripes and the bumper pad...or this might be their one of one Novachevelle)

I also like how they show a restored ZL-1 engine in the first photo, then WAY down in the other photos they show what the engine in this Nova actually looks like, which isn't even close to the first photo.

Cool car aside from the bs and acid trip ad!.
How's the extra tag pic or Dick Harrell badge fit in?.

Depending on what the alloy lump, BE and other parts may actually be on their own, $ may be better spent on one of this sellers other items...like the black Willys!.

When bidding keep in mind how this car's owner is a PRIVATE collector also more inportantly friends of the fabulous Millers Mustang Barn in Jupiter, Florida!.

Interesting, considering a line in his copy:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">What we can safely say, this is a spectacular car that was restored with no expense spared by <span style="color: #FF6666">it's</span> [sic] owner in Jupiter, Florida</div></div>

Re: Another COPO Nova

Hello guys

I'm not here to say that this car really exist! But what I have to say is I bought a magazine today called Nova Annual, from the editors of super chevy. I have never seen this magazine before, and found it in the Edmonton international airport today. I had to have it. It had an article on the 20,000 mile survivor L-78 nova of Bob Heckman's. There was a thread a few yrs ago here on the yenko site about his car.

In another article they say they raided GM Archives for some classic nova images. On page 12, there is a picture of what appears to be a1968 or 1969 nova. No SS badging on the back of the car. All black with 2 gold strips, gold line tires, and chevy 2 with something else I can't read on the back quarter panel. On the back trunk it says ZL-1. The writers comments below the picture are as follows: At first, this photo might not look like anything special beyond a paint-stripe test, until you notice the decal on the deck lid that says &quot;ZL-1&quot;. We've contacted GM to try and find out more about the story behind that decal, and as soon as we know, you'll know through the pages of super chevy.

I'm sure this will get the hair on the back of kwhizz neck standing on end. Thats not what this post is about. I just wanted everyone to find a copy of this magazine, and see what they think. Is it real?? Who knows! Probably just a test paint job! But thought it was an intresting picture none the less. I'm not good enough to post a picture of it, so if somebody wants to do it, I can email them a picture tomorrow some time. Just let me know.

So go find a copy, and tell us what you think.

Have a wonderful evening all.
