More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
More vacation pics! Went with my buddy Reg to pick up his son's '67 Chevelle today from a private garage where I guy does side work. He reassembled the car when I was no longer able to (I moved).
The '68 SS 396 in my previous thread was left at this very place. There are quite a few more cars and trucks here also, just not real interesting vehicles! Plans are to repair this Chevelle. Better get it out of the weather soon! http://onewaystreet.smugmug.com/Cars...5-22-001-L.jpg http://onewaystreet.smugmug.com/Cars...5-22-003-L.jpg http://onewaystreet.smugmug.com/Cars...5-22-002-L.jpg http://onewaystreet.smugmug.com/Cars...5-22-004-L.jpg http://onewaystreet.smugmug.com/Cars...5-22-005-L.jpg http://onewaystreet.smugmug.com/Cars...5-22-006-L.jpg Continued...... |

The foliage was just trimmed on this one! Hoping this one gets saved, but it might be too far gone!

Re: More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
Guy that owns the property and all of these cars said this is his first car. Said it was an original L78 car, bought it with a blown motor, switched it with an aluminum head 427 and drove it until he blew that motor up. He said this car was very nice and very straight back in the day before he parked it here years ago.

Crazy rust on all of those cars!
|
Re: More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
You're right about that! Not sure if any of them are worth saving or not.

Re: More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
Is the convertible for sale? I always wanted one.
|
Re: More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
Had a few people ask about these cars. I know the blue '67 and the '66 are not for sale, not sure about the others. I'll try to find out.

Re: More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
I don't understand it,with todays market and what you would have into a car restoring it right now, why would someone want to start out with a rust bucket when you can buy a car done for way less. A friend of mine just sold a real 66 SS that you can drive right now for $25k. He sells cars like this all the time, if you are looking for something just let me know I find cars like this all the time here in PA, How do you think Dan (MossportGreen) found his original 69Z.

I agree 100%. My buddy just finished working on a 67 Mustang Rag Top that is and was a total piece of $hit!! EVERYTHING on the car is repop junk.. I have never seen so many repop parts on one car. The only thing original to the car was the frame. The floor pans, trunk and all body panels are repop. The panels are so crooked it is just horrible. Nothing lines up right. The owner was told to junk the car and not try to restore it.. But he didn't listen and now has about 35 thousand in a car that is a hunk of crap. The car is not even a GT or anything rare that would have been worth saving... Rich |

Really a shame to see all of those rotting away. Too bad they didn't have the foresight to put some in closed storage. Bummer.

Both the blue '68 Camaro and the blue '67 Chevelle were said to be L78 cars. Camaro did not have a trim tag. |
Re: More Vacation Pics - '67 Chevelle Grave Yard
a 68 Camaro trim tag will tell no tales except of color and trim ...
