Did'nt see the COPO block, but I did see the 20% buyers premium in the fine print!
That's harsh, 20%? Wow... RichPern |

Also "MQ" block listed for sale.

Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Wow, looks like lots of deals there. Wish I was in Philly.

Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Just came from the auction. The ZL1 block is beyond cracked. The "GM" crossram intake listed is, in fact, an Offenhauser.

Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
why bother having an online auction if you dont ship?
|
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid

Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Can you send a call tag from UPS and have them take it to a UPS store to package and ship to you???
Brian |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Brian,
No. The auctioneer doesn't pack or ship anything nor delivers anything. You have to make your own arrangements. -Matt |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Matt,
I did not say have the auctioneer pack or ship it, I said send a call tag for UPS and have them pick up the part and deliver it to a UPS store and have them pack it. Brian |

Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Just a warning to anyone who is bidding over the internet and those who has not seen the parts in real life ..I have been to see them in person .
This is my take on what i saw . Their are more then a few parts not as described ..Lot #59 the NOS third gen door skin as they put it (has faded maker writing on them says OLDS 88 and they clearly are ) Zl1 block has been blown up big time and has Cracks into crank webbing .Some of the NOS parts in boxes my not be or have lots of shelf wear . Funky Cross ram intake etc .Like 70's vinyl woodgrain (You can read on the tube 84 olds wagon https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotImageVie...amp;url=572.jpg) All parts SOLD AS IS keep that in mind . Just hate to see people step up on parts and get burnt . I didn't even go back to Bid and i am local . |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
The aluminum heads looked like a bargain but who knows.
Jason |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
All the cracked, junk ends up at these auctions. A friend bought a 67 never stamped 427 motor w 858 heads fully assembled. Worth about 8K if good Block was not rebuildable, heads had 6 cracks in each head. Car was in a fire and they put it out hot and the water cracked all he components.Only good items were crank and rods....

Jason </div></div> Every single aluminum head there was blown up, cracked, or welded on or had valve seats that were installed incorrectly. They were all in very rough shape. |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Even unrepairable if there is such a thing, if this is the genuine #56 block w/ original stampings intact it's something special and worthy of value even if reduced to coffee table status.
At the very least it deserves a place in the corner of someone's shop to sleep and dream about the past like a respected old man. ~ Pete |

seems reasonable for a piece of history, and the 'rare' chance it can be repaired. |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
I think the Paypal rules on refunds are different if it is not an ebay auction payment?

not if you pay with your debit card |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Correct...anytime I use PayPal, I put it on my credit card because there is a lot more protection for me. I NEVER have PayPal take money out of my checking account.

Then PayPal passes the overhead to the customers with fee increases. |

There fees keep going up because they are greedy just like ebay. Brian |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
I don't feel bad for PayPal, I feel bad for me and everyone who is forced to use it through Ebay.

Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
I just got back from the auction. #54 block was worse then you could imagine. Not only blown in the crank area, but also looked like it froze. Inner and outer water jackets badly broken out on both banks. I agree with the "piece of history" though. I stopped bidding at 5k - coffee table got too expensive!
I picked up a few parts. Lots of mis-marked stuff (marked NOS and was used). One thing that looked OK (for the right price) on tomorrow's auction - #1022 curved neck radiator for automatic with a "B" date (no tag). I don't need it, but maybe one of you could use it. |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
You two need to take your arguing to a private place. I'm going to start deleting.

-Matt </div></div> No one is making you use ebay but yourself. Most if not all the parts you sell on ebay would sell right here. Brian |
Re: ZL-1 block on proxibid
Thats understandable. I list lots of items on here; some sell, some don't, but I don't have a lot of time to list everything in just one place.
