Most Valuable Tribute Camero ...

What would you build as the most "valuable" tribute car ... Ive seen every kind of tribute out there such as ZL-1 .. L89 ... Copo ... Yenko ... It seems many are "Investing" ( ??? ) into a losing proposition ...

Too many cars where the motor is missing but its still nice to preserve a muscle car ...

Re: Most Valuable Tribute Camero ...

Depends greatly on what you do to make it a tribute. A real L72 motor in an otherwise plain Jane Camaro will make a much more valuable Yenko than a 454 in it, with cheapo Yenko stripes.

But I suspect a ZL1 clone with a real ZL1 motor, or even an early 70s aluminum block would top the list of valuable clones. Now, the ZL-1 would also cost significantly more to build, so I'm not sure building one would be a great investment.

For the record, I think most good restorations are poor investments, which is why we call it a hobby, instead of an investment.

Of the ones listed the ZL-1 would be the most valuable but also the most costly to build...believe me...take my word for it.....I've built a few.

All tribute cars are toys. Toys almost never end up being a good investments. Although some owners don't realize that until after the fact.

Please don't use real NOS parts if you are building a tribute!

Re: Most Valuable Tribute Camero ...

always bugs me to see tribute cars with Yenko/Z28/427 badge holes in fenders, hoods & tail panels. I'd easily pick a copo clone, with a clean, no holes body, over a car with holes drilled where they shouldn't be any

Re: Most Valuable Tribute Camero ...

It bugs me to see a original BE in a tribute/clone or whatever you want to call it. It adds no real value to the tribute car and constitutes a potential win for the builder. It would be one of the quickest ways to get upside down in a car.

Re: Most Valuable Tribute Camero ...

... I would build a black 1969 Camaro with a big block with a stinger hood

...... NO EMBLEMS .... NO STRIPES

.... with a GOLD stinger hood painted to match the corvettes with the small pin stripe

..... Yea Baby !

Re: Most Valuable Tribute Camero ...

Never used any BE's or 69 dated ZL-1 parts on my cars. Made no since. My feeling was, if it didn’t affect the way the car performed, looked or handled from the factory what’s the point. Parts with the correct casting numbers is what made the cars perform like the real thing. 69 date codes and BE rear ends don’t add a thing, except to the cost. …….Even then they’re still damn expensive to build.
