Re: Vintage drag photos
Great stuff. I wonder if John Armstrong was involved with any of these cars back then?

Re: Vintage drag photos
OK,OK, some more Bob Boudreau photos! These Camaros were both owned by the same guy that had the Maroon RS/SS MacDonald Chev-Olds sponsored car. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...738_2507_n.jpg

Re: Vintage drag photos
It has a silver grille, that is a nice car. Is the Green one still around?
|
Re: Vintage drag photos
I have no idea.

----Unusual green Camaro option wise. No console or extra wood trim and yet deluxe houndstooth gut. I like it.......Bill S

Re: Vintage drag photos
I got a little info on the car - The guy says it was a Motion conversion done at MacDonald Chev-Olds in Halifax. Supposedly they were licensed by Motion to do these - can anybody confirm this through Joel R,?
The car started life as an L78 and was converted to an L72. Guy says the car is still around, has been stashed away for some time. (At least it's still alive, hopefully ?!) |
Re: Vintage drag photos
I have to agree , the cars then were just way to cool. The green L72 is just wild..BKH

Glad to share. I'm grateful that Bob Boudreau documented all these cars and is willing to share them with us. |
Re: Vintage drag photos
Those are some great photos. Lovin' the 68 427 Chevelle and the Green 69 Camaro. The Green 69 Camaro photos look so good that I thought they were recent! I was thinking to myself "Wow, who found that?"
|
Re: Vintage drag photos
Fantastic pics, I spy a 67 BB 2dr sedan in the background of the nova pic.
|
Re: Vintage drag photos
Yeah, I see that too. I can't remember ever seeing a vinyl top on a 1967 Biscaye/Bel Air Sedan before. Combined with the BBC, that would really be a unique car.

that appears to be a complete, correct deluxe interior. All the woodgrain pieces & pedal trim pieces are in place. It is simply a no console, standard dash (no gauges) car, an early one (note the straight headrests) also ... https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...73105482_n.jpg |

Re: Vintage drag photos
more shots barry!
here's one i have of it, story is it was one of the original Z11 impalas http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...1963impala.jpg |
Re: Vintage drag photos
Dave, the guy who bought my Chevelle when it was new, (correction, ordered it) said there's a Z11 still kicking around Maine.

Re: Vintage drag photos
What a handful this car was to drive! "Sandblaster" Nova, 427, tunnel ram, 4 speed, jacked WAY up. Everytime this car launched, it bounced all over the place. I remember him making a late night pass at Pennfield and shredding the driveshaft at speed- lots of sparks!

Re: Vintage drag photos
That is so "BAD" looking,I love it.

Looking at those ladder bars and based on the vintage I bet they didn't have floater on the axle housing. Boy THAT would make it bounce..... |
Re: Vintage drag photos
LS-6 Chevelle, "King Rat", a legendary car from Saint John,NB

Re: Vintage drag photos
That Sandblaster Nova has some strange looking emblems over the side marker lights and on the corner of the hood. Reminds me of Dick Harrell badges.
|
Re: Vintage drag photos
I din't recall what the badges were, I might be able to find out. Actually this car might even still be around tucked in a garage.
