Looking for photo of 1970 Chevelle
Was thinking about the Hugger Orange/Monaco Orange 402 car that someone found a few years ago. Tried searching for that car and came up with nothing. Tried searching for ANY base Chevelle and came up with nothing. In fact, the factory brochure ignores the Chevelle completely. Anyone know where I can find a pic of a Chevelle 2-door?

Re: Looking for photo of 1970 Chevelle
Thanks, Gentlemen, but neither of you offered Chevelles - only Malibus and SSs.

Re: Looking for photo of 1970 Chevelle
In 1970, there were:
Chevelles Malibus Super Sports (an option package on the Malibu) There were no posts in 1970 coupes. The Chevelle isn't even listed in the brochure, but it is listed in other literature, which leads me to believe Chevrolet didn't introduce them till sometime in the middle of the model year. |

Did Chevy refer to them as Chevelle in their literature or Chevelle 300? |
Re: Looking for photo of 1970 Chevelle
I think only in Canada there was a 300 Deluxe.

Re: Looking for photo of 1970 Chevelle
The window sticker for the orange Chevelle calls out an M40 Turbo Hydramatic, while the build sheet calls for a M3 something. Can't make out the last digit. I would not think there would be a Turbo 400 behind a small block, but I could be wrong. So wonder which one it is?

Re: Looking for photo of 1970 Chevelle
Interesting thread. In 79 I got orders to go to the UK from Dover AFB Delaware. I was told the 69 Z28 I had would really be a pain to drive over there so I ended up selling it and getting a 70 Chevelle in the deal to have something easier to work with for the MOT sticker. This Chevelle had the trim that was installed on the top of the fenders and back to the rear side windows, which the above orange car doesn't have at all. Sorry I didn't get any pics when I had it. Actually didn't have it long because as soon as it came in on the ship I sold it to a guy that took it back to Michigan. This car had a 396 and th400 but I couldn't tell you if it was original. I can't remember that far back but I don't really remember seeing Malibu emblems on it at all, just Chevelle on the grill.
