kerrys plum L78

I found my car in a field in a small town called Helena Arkansas sitting in a field where the guy had a couple other cars sitting. They all were outside rusting away. He knew it was a rare car but left it out in the weather any way. I came along just in time . The owner and his buddy had already done some research and had a copy of the orig dealer invoice ,MSO and some other paperwork so I was able to contact the orig owner and talked to him several times before he died a couple years back. He Told me he was 18 when he bought the car and traded in a 65 chevy impala for the car. He said he wasn't prepared for what that car could do after owning the impala. In 69 the motor and trans were pulled out of the car in a shop to do some work on it and they were stolen. He never really did anything with the car after that and it ended up in a goat pin with goats all over it . I think getting them stolen was a real sore spot for many years to come . He admitted to me he should have moved on with the car and never let it get to him like it did. He also told me that a day doesn't go by with out him think of his old car. When I sent him pics of the car coming back to life he kept them in his work truck so he could show his friends what he once owned. We had a plan when I finished the car to meet up at super chevy in Memphis Tenn. I told him to get his 4spd. skills ready so he could drive his car once again. What I found out was that super chevy was really in Millington Tenn. and that was where the orig. dealer ( Curtis Person) had sold it to him when it was new . So early one spring I started calling him to set it up and couldn't get an answer. So after doing some research I found out he had suddenly died that winter so I never got to meet him. But I think he still rides in the car with me

I really like the "simplistic look" of these 67 Camaros...we had one once about 12 years ago...but, we decided not to keep it...should have had more vision

These little cars must have been a terror with steep gears and a 4 speed...and a well tuned L78 with a few speed goodies

Of course a "stripped down" 68 L78 Nova is not bad either

Great car..thanks for sharing

I love this car. I've seen it in action plenty of times at Cecil County Raceway
