Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
Maybe a Gates Chev car?
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
I think that is Jerry Bukowski's old car..... If so, it's 614997 from Gates.

Last I knew it was in Washington state,

Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
Here is some background from posters on f-book:
Below postings were made by a fellow named Steve Rankin: <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">"Jerry's old car!! You never know what will show up here, I did get a chance to drive it right after he restored it!!1 hr · Like ..Steve Rankin I know a little history on that Yenko.1 hr · Like · 1 ..Steve Rankin <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">This car was purchsed new by a guy in Lakeville IN at Martin Chev</span></span>, sold later to a guy in MI, then my buddy bought it and totally restored it, he did a hell of a job and then a guy in Washington state offered him "big money" for it and he sold it some years ago!"</span></span> |
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
From memory, Steve Rankin is a Mopar guy that usta be from the South Bend area, and the blue car was originally purchased by Ed Flowers as I recall, but I thought he bought it at Mishawaka Gates.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
Gates is the dealer on the Yenko Inventory Sheets as well.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
im sure that is not jerry, as he is not that tall......might be his car though
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
I'm pretty sure the guy in the picture is Ed Flowers. I recall him being a sorta tall blonde guy, but that was years ago.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
Eddie your right thats not Jerry. and the car Jerry had wasnt restored it was an original paint car.
and if I remember right thats the plate Jerry had with the car. |
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
I bought the car from Jerry in the spring of 1998. Sold it to Dave Christenholz in the summer of '03 . Dave then sold it to a fellow member here. It was 90% original and is known to Mr. Lillard who assisted in judging it at the National Chevy Convention in Northern California . Don't know the current location or owner.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
It's even more original now as the original tires have been reunited with the car.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
Wow!!! Great. I drove the car almost 2000miles before I decided that wasn't a good idea. We were ata national convention in Vancouver with the trailer stored about 10 miles from the show area. Drove the car to the trailer with no problem. Unloaded the car on our side street to put back in the garage. Drove 10 ' and the right side idler arm bracket fell off. Bolt was missing. Kinda scary!!!

Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
How about a reunion at MCACN VII?
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue

Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
Jim and LaDonna,
Please accept this invitation to be reunited with your former Lemans Blue 1969 Yenko Camaro. It has undergone and extensive detailing and clean up by former owner Les Quam and is considered to be one of the most original examples of the Mark, in existence. It has not been shown publicly for many years and the current owner has agreed to have the car unveiled at MCACN VII. We have reached out to Ed Flowers, the original owner as well and hope that he too can be reunited with the car at the show. Hope to see you in November. |
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Bluei
Stefano, thanks so much for the invitation. We will attend if possible. I will stay in touch and let you know this summer.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Bluei

Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Bluei
Hi all, still looking for my lemans blue with black vinyl top yenko camaro that I purchased from my friend Thurmond Munson. It has black interior, four on the floor with a cue ball grip, white striping, all Yenko badges, and should have a " in memory of Thurmond Munson" on it.the car was shown all over the U.S., but I usually stored it in either Florida or North Carolina. Once again if anybody has any leads or info, please please please contact me at [email protected] THANK-YOU for your help !

Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Bluei

Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Bluei
This is a great photo, love it, my Yenko did not have that striping and I have to admit that I do like that with the lt blue better. Kinda makes you wonder how many of those Lynn Yenko put on !
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Bluei
I thought all Yenkos received that striping?
And Lynn applied the stripes? I'm not a Chevy guy but I thought they all had stripes. |
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
1 Attachment(s)
Not all of them..... From what I recall the owner who I restored the car for it was ordered with no hood striping and no sYc on the back of the quarter panel stripes. This is a well known car.
|
Re: '69 Yenko Camaro: Lemans Blue
We restored a ralley green car that had paperwork that showed no stripes, and the tach installed in a different location.
