have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Trying to evaluate true worth and whether or not the one owner increases value or not...original window sticker included can pick it up for less than 6 figures...want to be sure before I spend this kind of money that she is worth it...any tips? Fwiw orange w/ white stripes 4spd 69 camaro less than 40k original miles

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

How about a little more information:
*Original sheet metal?
*Original paint?
*Original interior (style/color)?
*Original engine, trans (which one), rear end (ratio)?
*Ownership history?
*Engine size?
*What parts need to be replaced?

"...less than 6 figures" is a large latitude. This car should not approach 6 figures unless it is an L78 or L78/L89 that is good color and well-restored or original paint.

Please fill out the rest of your profile and....welcome aboard!

Assuming it's a Yenko cause it's posted in the Yenko section?

I missed that. We'll see.

A 1969 Yenko for less than 100,000? Snap it up!

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

It's a yenko 100% original numbers matching never restored

Except this is legitimate...I was trying to find some information...I'll post pics one I get back to the car...No hoax just a truly rare find...the gentleman's grandfather bought the car New and left it to him when he passed...he's had it sitting in his garage for the last 15 years and just doesn't know what he's sitting on...

It would help us understand/believe you if you provide more info in your profile. You are soliciting info from THE world-class experts on all things YENKO. Folks on this site like to know who is on the other side of the screen. I hope this works out for you. Thanks!

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Do not post the vin etc here as it will be searched out and possibly bought out from under you. A real Orange Yenko with 40K miles, orig paint etc is probably worth north of 300K. Check it's vin against the list published here on the site.

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Maybe its a Yenko striped Douglas Copo? There are not many original owner Yenko cars not known by some of us on this site.

I understand the inability to believe the post when I got the word that he wanted to sell I was in disbelief myself...double checked what I had wrote down and it has 70k on the clock but I assure you this is a true yenko and just wanted to verify my evaluation of a $225,000+ price tag...Will not be posting vin but will cross reference with the list on this site...if all goes as planned I'll post pictures (and even the vin) after I purchase...thanks guys

How many of these one time posters have actually come through with their story?

1qwkss don't worry about it. That was just one guy. Good luck. I sent you a pm.

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Agreed. If the car's legit snap a picture and share. A simple picture won't reveal who owns it or where it's located.

How on Earth would a guy not know what he's sitting on yet think a 69 Camaro would be worth over $100,000? If he thinks it's just a Camaro he wouldn't be asking 6 figures for the car. If he's asking $100,000 he certainly knows he has a rare car. Something just doesn't add up here.

He isn't asking 100k....like I said I believe I can get it for less than 6 figures...I believe it has torque thrusts on it but he has the stockers as well...I have a couple pics on my computer I'll post it when I get home

That depends on whether or not the camera you use is GPS capable and whether or not the feature that imprints location info along with the picture has been turned off. I say <span style="font-weight: bold">don't post any pictures till the car is yours</span>. Better to be safe than sorry.

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Thanks for the clarification. Either way if the guy is asking close to $100,000 I would believe he knows what he has. And for the sake of the hobby I hope what you're saying is true. I put the over/under at people who have either reached out to you either via email or inbox at 15. Good luck with the acquisition, Matt ;-)

There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site...you might want to reach out to some of them for their opinion (in private) about the car. It sounds like you know the car but I would hate to see you get taken. Before you drop serious money, take some good photos of the trim tag, vin #, motor, rear and transmission stamps, body panels and paperwork and get a couple honest opinions. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Mike

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Thanks Mike...just spoke with the gentleman and he's in the middle of having it appraised as we speak so the under 6 figures idea is out of the picture now I'm assuming....nonetheless should still be up for sale afterwards

camaromb 05-03-2014 04:32 AM

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

The Camaro in the picture surely cannot be an unrestored 100% original 70k mile 1969 Yenko sitting for the last 15 years. It looks like most of the restored clones we have seen over the years, chrome wheelwell trim, polyglas tires, etc..

That's the picture he sent me...Waiting to get a cell phone pic from him...sry about the confusion guys but I assure you this is real...still hasn't given me the vin and waiting to hear price as well...my apologies but this is still no b.s.story

Charley Lillard 05-03-2014 05:22 PM

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

What he is saying is that is the exact same pic used for the clone for sale. You are probably being scammed.

Astock 05-03-2014 06:07 PM

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

It's a clone, so how can it not be a b.s. story?
Anyone in their right mind can see it's a redone car. Certainly not what you described.

I'm saying he must've found the pic online and sent it to me..the gentleman works with my father...I agree that it would sound fishy but I truly believe he is in possession of a $250,000+ camaro...until I receive another photo or at least the vin I will refrain from posting anything else

No, not just one guy, just the first that did his homework before posting. Sort of insulting to be called out like that as a 10 year poster questioning the authenticity of such a claim from a first time poster.

I don't want first time posters to be afraid to post. He might be getting scammed but we don't need to discourage people from coming and asking.

A few months ago I was contacted by a fellow who told me a new employee at his job mentioned that his grandfather had a '63 Anniversary Gold Impala in his garage that he might sell. He eventually sent me a pic from a cell phone that was sent to him by the grandfather. It was a picture of MY car (that I still own)!

If you haven't laid eyes on the car yourself and are just going by a story, chances are that he's full of BS.

1qwkss 05-08-2014 01:47 AM

Re: have first rights to a one owner garage kept 69

Again, no bs, car is sold however...he sold it to a gentleman out of Davis island (if any of you know anything about Florida it's home to some of the richest people in the state) sold for 201,000 he knows he could've gotten much more but apparently is personal friends with the guy and can visit the car whenever he'd like...Regardless I'll have pics and a vin sometime tomorrow I believe...Again this is a legitimate find and would be fantastic if it's one of the ??? Cars on the list...ended up finding out it's apparently 1 of about 140 documented true yenkos in existence anymore...the car is truly my dream car as I am a camaro enthusiast and lifelong Chevrolet fanatic...I'll fill you guys in with the rest of information as I receive it...in the meantime who wants to buy my TBSS? lol
