WS6 Trans Am or Formula 1998 to 2002 Wanted
Looking for a car for my son and I to work on. Lower mileage, unmodified, auto trans car preferred. Anything but bright red or white! I like the 1998 to 2002 because of the LS-1 engine instead of the earlier LT1 with the fault-prone Optispark distributor.
He likes the WS6 because of the factory ram air hood (what can say? he has good taste in cars for a 13 year old). Since I got my first Z11 Camaro when I was 14, I figured I should start him out at a similar age. Mechanical issues are not a problem but prefer an original paint, non rusty car. Thanks, Steve |

I know you did not want RED..... but it is near you.... and looks pretty good. 2000 RED WS6 |

Still looking. Prefer a black one. The red ones attract too many tickets.

Here's a black ragtop.

Re: WS6 Trans Am or Formula 1998 to 2002 Wanted
I'd love to locate something closer to me in NJ. The shipping/travel cost is what kills a decent price on these cars. And the vast majority that I have run across have been modified and driven hard.
The ideal car would be an unmodified, 2000, black, T-top car, 6-speed with low miles...located across the street. (Like how I found that '87 IROC Z/28 a few years ago that was 1.5 miles from my house. ) I like the idea of a 2000 since that's the year my son was born. Kind of neat to work on something that is the same age as you. |

Ok, here's one a bit closer to you.

Re: WS6 Trans Am or Formula 1998 to 2002 Wanted
98-99 had LS1 intake
2000 models tend to burn oil. 01-02 came with the better LS6 intake. Check www.ls1tech.com or www.fireball.org forums. |
Re: WS6 Trans Am or Formula 1998 to 2002 Wanted
I have been checking out LS1tech.com already. Very good info there.
Stay tuned! (no pun intended) BTW, fireball.org is some weird furry creature site and not car related. |

Re: WS6 Trans Am or Formula 1998 to 2002 Wanted
Ugh! That's terrible. All it needs is the Wicked Witch of the East's stocking legs to be sticking out from under the car.

hahaha...would have been nice if the ex's stockings were sticking out from underneath !!! just kidding !!
