2015 MCACN; Announcing Special L79 Display!
 

So, as we all know, there are some pretty stout <span style="font-style: italic">small-block </span>Muscle Machines out there. In the interest of keeping things diversified for the MCACN show, I am pleased to announce we will be featuring a special gathering of <span style="font-style: italic">L79 cars</span> this year.

Hosted by Kenny Pascoe, this display will feature only the real thing; documented examples of the high-output L79 cars, which includes Nova's, Corvettes and Chevelles. If you own or know of any of these prime examples of small block screamers, please consider joining us.

This should be a great display. It would be cool if all four years of Corvette L79's were there. They were available in 1965, 1966, 1967, and 1968 327 versions. The 1968 version is certainly overlooked. Thank you for putting this display together, Ken.

I know of a local guy that is the original owner of a 4 door `65 Chevelle that is L79 powered with a 4-speed. Last I heard, it was unrestored. Should I try to contact him for this display?

Trying to show dads car, 67 Chevelle, POP documented L79, triple black bench seat and a 4 speed. Non numbers matching car, currently running a 383. Picture wont show but I have some on Photobucket under my same screen name.

Oooohh, that wagon is cool IF its real. I hope it has more documentation. I wonder what the market will judge that to be worth as it sits. It strikes me as a $40-45K-ish car when done, and even though I'm a wagon geek, I wouldn't want to be in that car $75K at the end of the day. JMO....

We already have 2 cars locked up for this display as well as many other candidates . If you know of any interesting L79 Cars please pass them by Bob Ashton or myself ... I will post a list when more cars get locked in ... KP

I have 9-10 cars written down with verbal commitments as we are waiting on them registering . If you know of or have one of these

Just a note to say we have not gone to sleep on this display as we have 9 registered to date. I have a few verbal commits and per space
will be closing the doors at 15 cars. I am hoping to have a final roster within the month . If you know of any special L79 that would

Here are three pictures of a very weird L79 I've seen at local cruise nights this summer. It's a 4 door. I met the owner last week. He tells me he ordered the car while in the service, in California. He wanted the 4 door because it was his DD and frequently had passengers to haul around. (fellow servicemen?) Notice no Posi., but he added one later. Sorry I did not take any pictures of the body. I'll get some next time I see it. I mentioned MCACN special display this year to him, but he did not demonstrate much interest. I think Mike G. also talked to him about the show and the display.

Also see the album cover laying on the core support. He blacked out his grill with &quot;bow tie&quot; shapes.
