SCR18
We are pleased to announce that on the weekend of August 22, 2015, the Annual Super Car Reunion (SCR18), will be held in beautiful Bowling Green, KY, This truly unique event features Chevrolet dealer built Supercars and COPO cars.
Thursday will be the usual “meet and greet” at the host hotel, the Holiday Inn. On Friday, our day will begin at the historic Beech Bend Raceway Park ¼ mile drag strip, which we have leased for the day. Once we are done at Beech Bend, we will go to the National Corvette Museum, where we will move the Supercars into their exhibition hall. Later on Friday evening will be a banquet, also at the museum. Following the banquet, attendees will be able to spend time visiting with friends while viewing the cars. Saturday, the Supercars will be on display at the museum, which will be open to the public. Not only will SCR18 be an exciting weekend for Supercar fanatics, but also for their families, as Bowling Green has several attractions, shopping, etc. The host hotel features on-site American restaurant (where kids 12 and under eat free), a lounge, an indoor pool and fitness center. Beech Bend Raceway Park features include not only a NHRA sanctioned drag strip, but also an amusement/water Park and campground. Of course the National Corvette Museum is a must see. To make things more affordable for attendees, we have made arrangements with both Beech Bend and the Museum for discount tickets. |
Re: SCR18
This is awesome news! Great facility + lots of family stuff to do and see, perfect dates and back to the "old" format.
Let's get back to the roots of the "old" SCR events and make this one something to remember. Hats off to those who are making it happen. Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

And with any luck, there will also be some Go-karts nearby!

This event will be awesome ...glad to see the Reunion in a Nostalgic facility with Beech Bend and the Corvette Museum. It's 5 hours from Columbus. Bob...the Go Karts are off limits to the Iowa and New York clans...I have seen their driving skills first hand ...not a pretty site. lol. This is the same facilities that holds the Hot Rod Reunion / Cackle Fest. Can't wait till this years cool shows ...SCR18 and MCACN this November.

Re: SCR18
That sounds like a great time and a much-needed shot-in-the-arm with the new venue! Tread lightly in that museum and don't go stomping around too hard . . .

Re: SCR18
Will SCR18 once again have a section for member muscle cars but which are not super cars or dealer conversion cars?

Re: SCR18
which holiday inn is the host hotel

Re: SCR18
For those who have never been to Bowling Green, the Corvette Plant is directly across the highway from the Museum and they offer daily tours of the facility. We were in BG last June for the Hot Rod Reunion and went thru the plant one morning while we were waiting for the track to dry from some heavy rain the previous evening. It's well worth your time to see how these cars come together.
Plus, ...... they're now building the engines in BG in an upgraded area of the plant and you can watch the process during the tour. They're also completing a new Test Track just behind the Assembly Plant which will be available to certain groups in the near future. Even if you're not a big Corvette fan, ..... it's still a "Car Thing!" |
Re: SCR18
First, the host hotel will be the main/larger Holiday Inn at 1021 Wikerson Trace, not the Holiday Inn Express. We should have the information needed to book a room (at a discount) in the very near future. We will post here as soon as we get it.
Second, yes, plans are to have a section in front of the exhibition hall where the supercars will be for other cars. |
Re: SCR18
This is the same Hotel/Convention Center that hosts the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in June. This facility (and Bowling Green in general) are extremely car-friendly. During the HRR the lots are full every night and they even allow (encourage ) Cackle Cars under the portico on Kick-off evening.
Trust me: Bowling Green is a Car Crazy Town, and Beech Bend Park WILL NOT disappoint you! I'm excited about this!!!!!! |
Re: SCR18
Heard that no pizza trucks will be delivering to any venue we are going to be at. Imagine that. :-)

Re: SCR18

Re: SCR18
This is going to be a great place to have the Super Car reunion! Beech Bend is a really neat track to race at and to be a spectator. The grandstands are right on top of the track which is great for pictures not like most tracks where you are 50ft away and have to look over a concrete wall to try and see the cars. The stands also have a metal roof on top by the starting line and the sound of the cars echo off of it....it's like being back at a track in the 60's but the track surface is all up to date to handle todays cars. The grounds have a lot tree's for shade to park under too.

Re: SCR18
Like Dave said, shooting from the bleachers on either side of the track is a piece of cake!

Re: SCR18
I just spoke with and confirmed that Al Rogers with Freeze Frame Image LLC a nationally recognized photographer from Michigan has agreed to be the official photographer for SCR 18. Welcome aboard Al......Al shoots for 15 + magazines and is happy to join us in Bowling Green. Al is interested in doing some features and photo sessions on cars at the show and he has also requested...barn finds, Canadian documented Super Cars, first time shown cars to name a few. I know we can get some great exposure thru magazines with Al on board. A special thanks goes to Bob Ashton for introducing us to Al . The show is shaping up nicely thanks to all of our participants and staff .

Re: SCR18
Dennis, Dru and Pete doing their "dueling burnouts" is one of my most fondest memories of past SCRs. One of those "only at the SCR" moments.
|
Re: SCR18
The rooms are booked, bringing two cars, and looking forward to a fun weekend of racing!
|
Re: SCR18
My room is booked and I can't wait!
This is my official call out to all the Deuce owners. Let's get the Deuce Shootout going again!!! Who want's in??? Jamie |
Re: SCR18
Mascar will be there, Kenny, Adam and myself!
We will be bringing the FB Deuce Yenko and we are building a special motor to run the heck out of it! We are coming to race! Kenny will post some details soon Its going to be fun |
Re: SCR18
Very nice .....prototype motor for drag racing. Deuce guys are getting serious. We need all day popcorn for this action
|
Re: SCR18
I hear there is one Deuce coming that runs low 10s.
Unfortunately, in one of my weaker moments I thought it would be better if I sat out the Deuce shootout, instead doing a match race with another purpose built race car. Only problem with that, I mentioned this to Jim Parks, who has the Gibb Pro-stock Camaro. I have a feeling that if I do race Jim, he and his Rat Powered Camaro will show me and my Mouse powered Deuce no mercy. |
Re: SCR18
Tom, Is there any openings left for racing? I;m going to be there for the popcorn! The Dutchman

Re: SCR18
Yes, lots of openings left for racing. Would love to have you come join us.
