Amen.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
I don't know the color is different it is a nice car. My wife likes it but the price is way to high.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
43k for a small block car?? Yikes......
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
That interior looks new to me... Still a nice car.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
I don't mind the color scheme, looks like it's a nice car. I'd sure drive it.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
Looks like whoever ordered the car originally threw the option book at it ...
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
And forgot to add L78.

X2! I obviously like the color, but it's not really very popular - and the price is simply out of touch with the market... |

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
Does this car have a rear sway bar? I see the f41 suspension but does that include the rear sway bar?

This car was built too early for the rear sway bar...you will note the date on POP [11/69]...the Nova rear sway bar made its debut in the spring of 1970. wilma |

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
Our 4th of Feb. L78 did not have the bar...our July 70 L78 did...I think Sully's car [May?] has one. Didn't I read somewhere that all the Deuces had the rear bar??

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
No, I'm only saying the RPO F41 was not drawn up with a RSB component until Jan of '70 per the date on the assy manual revision. So, any Nova with a RSB needs to be dated after Jan '70. How quickly did they integrate the RSB into production is anyone's guess!

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
It was a separate option, only available on SS models, and was sans RSB before Jan of '70. The COPO 9737 likely included the F41 in order to get it installed on a non-SS Nova. So, that is how the Yenko Deuce Novas ended up with F41 on a non-SS body.

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
My unmolested 02D SS Nova does not have a rear bar, or upper mounts for one, but does have the sway bar leaf spring plates.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
My 02B has the bar plates also.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
Wilma is correct, my 70 is an 05B build and has the RSB, also has the 4 leaf rear leaf springs too, believe this was part of the F41
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
My car has the 4 leaf and the 13/16 front bar for the BB but does this translate to F41? F41 is not on my window sticker.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
F41 was bars and shocks, F40 was springs. I don't think you could get F40 & F41 on the same car.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
I believe I remember from way back that F40 was included with BB.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
I always believed that with the F41 you got the 13/16's front bar, rear bar setup and 5 leafs with the springs. F40 was standard with 4 leafs with a 11/16's front bar, this is the original setup on my 70 L34 Nova. The 4 leaf type springs are the same springs that were used on the 69 & 70 Z/28 Camaros. My 72 Nova SS has the F41 setup with 13/16's front bar and rear bar with 5 leafs for the springs.

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
My 70 L78 is a Feb. 70 build and has the F40, 4 rear leafs and 11/16 front bar..

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
My car had the original blue HH tagged front springs (I think, still have them somewhere?) and the original spiral shocks, I kept those too. My car was off the road since '76. so it was pretty unmessed with

Re: 1970 ss NOVA

The option was available during the entire '70 build year, but the rear sway bar was not added to the option until Jan of '70. So, does your car have the rear sway bar? |
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
My GM Canada documented 1970 Nova SS was the last L78 shipped to Canada (end of June/70). It had the F41 option and the rear sway bar. Showing as a separate option was the G32 computer selected rear springs. This car also had the dual snorkel air cleaner.

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
Yes it has rear sway bar. Here is a picture of general motors of canada options list 4 my car.

Re: 1970 ss NOVA
So marshall...just to clarify: your Jan built 70 physically has the rear sway bar on the car or are you just referring to the F41 option listed on the GM of Canada docs?? If you have the bar, it is the earliest one I have ever heard of.
Thanks...wilma |
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
I don't believe the rear bar was available until March or April. As well as the resonators and dual snorkel.
|
Re: 1970 ss NOVA
Technically, it's possible but like Tom states - it would be the earliest one we've heard of. IIRC, there are Revision dates on the blueprints as Jan of '70, and the initial design dates were in December of '69 which means that it's possible that they could have incorporated the RSB into the option as quickly as Jan '70, unlikely - but possible....
