Mallory Ramcharger wires
Found a couple sets of NOS Mallory Ramcharger
Plug wires, can anyone identify if they are correct or maybe have pics of the Ramcharger wires. This is what is on wires, Mallory Ramcharger Carbon Core Hypalon... They don't have the burn proof boots but I have a few sets of NOS burn proof boots to use for the wires. Motion Perfomance used the Ramcharger wires, but where all used with the burn proof boots? I would like to sell a couple sets if they are correct and use a set for my build. Can't post pics with my phone. Thanks |

Clear fuel lines and no clamps. Boy those were the days. I ran the same thing but would never consider that today. Love the look Verne.

That's the way we did it. I never had a problem and it all even passed tech. (no chance today) That wasn't soft fuel hose though; it was Tygon tubing. That was '71. I still have the Holley pressure gauge on the firewall and the pump in the trunk. Verne |

Re: Mallory Ramcharger wires
Verne , were your wires solid core or carbon core?
I think Motion and others used hi temp orange solid core wire in the 1960s and early 1970's On the Ramcharger wire shown...Is it 7mm wire or 8mm wire? I have seen Mallory items in 7mm and 8mm wire and boots The early Mallory Super Duty Boots came in a cardboard box The ones shown here looks like have a later style packaging although may be the same boot. same with the wires some early wire came on a wire spool and you assembled both ends |
Re: Mallory Ramcharger wires
They were solid core. I don't remember the size though. I forget if I got the wire from a roll or if they were pre-cut but I do remember having to attach the connectors and boots to the ends myself. I soldered the metal core to the clips. IT must have come as a kit because I remember having the 2 different boots for the coil wire.
I sold them (cheap) long ago but I may still have the coil wire tucked away somewhere. Verne PS: As for the boots, I honestly don't remember if they came in a box of on cardboard. I just remember I bought them at Motion in '69. Sorry about the memory..... |
Re: Mallory Ramcharger wires
Have a copy of Motions 71 catalog I believe the Ramcharger
wires were carbon core and the hi po Mallory were silicone core..I think. And yes the catalog shows the larger boots attached my guess is the ones I have are not the ones Motion sold, with the boots they can look similar. I hope? |

Here's a 100' roll I got a few years back from a closed down parts store,it measures 7mm. It's ink stamped Mallory but I can not make out the other ink stamp. Looks like it could spell Ramcharger but I'm really not sure. Now I just need to find the boots.
