Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
Good job on getting that one bought, Stefano. I like the fact that you jumped when everyone else wondered. The car seems to have been a factory ordered unit as no dealer would order those options on that model for inventory. Wish I'd have never sold my last post Olds ('72 U code with a W25 hood), as these cars are extremely rare and peculiar in a good way. Please keep us "posted" on the resurrection. Good job!!!

Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
I just saw a set of SSl wheels for sale and now can't remember where. I have s complete set of original paint SSll that are nice survivor quality but wrong date code if you have any interest. Judging from the pics, all the salty stuff is there. I can see a hood, intake, breather, W-27, how about the carb. and alternator?
|
Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
It came with 4 original SSIs as well as all correct W-30/455 components which appear original to the car.

Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
just saw this not too long ago for sale? what's the intent now?
|
Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
We are just having some fun at the evaluation and authentication stage. I believe the W-30 should be restored, just not certain that we are going to be the ones to do it.
What do you think? |
Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
Too bad the original hood wasn't in tact. I think the paint would take to a buff and spot in the primer and you almost could have had a cool survivor. It is worthy of a restore though id prefer it with no ac but its neat nonetheless. If I had the green 71 sold id consider this as a project provided its for sale someday.

Re: 1970 Olds W-30 Post
I thought about the Rat-Rod W-30 thing for now. It has a lot of originality to it, other than the rust and hood and maintenance items it seems that very much of it is original and largely undisturbed.

Orig OAI base date stamp. Drain holes for OAI, and hole at snout for CA emissions as well as other originality clues. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn0620.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dscn0621.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dscn0622.jpg |
