These stories always amaze me. I hope it's real. I also hope the estate gets what it deserves...

I hope the guy has a deserving son who will love the car just as much as his old man.

I just don't get at all why a guy that buys a special car like that back in the day, perhaps ran it hard and blew it up, would just retire it to a barn to rot into the earth. Its not like a forgotten Z they made 20k of. I'd have been fixing it or at least had gotten my son or grandson helping me. Just don't understand the mindset, it would keep me young working on it

life gets in the way, and before ya know it..youre retired..etc..

Better there than rotting away out in a damp field. Maybe he is still saving? Hard to pass judgement without knowing all of the surrounding facts.

In the case of my dad: he got sick. He was diagnosed with debilitating Rheumatoid arthritis and could barely get around, much less work on (or even drive) our GTO. He was 35 years old at the time. The car sat in one spot my entire growing up years (about 25 years) until I could convince him to let me keep it at my house.

So there are certainly reasons, even if they are not clear to the casual observer.

Fortunately - it did not deteriorate much even though it was an unheated garage.
