Looks like a flat hood car too.

Re: 69 z camaro

Maybe "flat" now, but if you look close, it's a cowl induction hood.

VIN shown is either bogus or an interesting random combination (N123456).

I don't know much about endura bumpers, but they are essentially rubber over steel (?) - so this one is toast without any usable parts right?

Re: 69 z camaro

Marlin, I doubt the bumper brackets are even usable!

I was there the night that happened. I thought there was 4 people in the car but was told there was 6. Nobody got really hurt. Was there just after they dug it out of the woods. There was 4 grown men sitting around for hours just looking at it. Still had origal heater hoses and clamps. The yellow tag was still in the glovebox. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...-30438-017.jpg

The car is real so is the trim tag, vin still in place. Had my eyes on both. Looks like he just wants the VIN between buyer and seller. I was told I could take as many pic as I wanted just none of the trim tag and VIN. Was not my car so I respected that and thanked him for just letting me take a bunch of pics. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...-30444-022.jpg

The license plate on the trailer is quite appropriate. I would cut the roof off and make a planter out of it.

Re: 69 z camaro

Its mostly a display piece for someone with floor space and a few bucks. ..
Honestly.
That's the thing to do. Is display it as what it is really is......
A field find / forest find untouched in 39 years.....
A survivor Grave yard car as a testimonial.

Clear coating the whole entire car top to bottom inside out and in between .....

I bet at Chicago in November it would be the Star attraction

It really would be a neat converstion piece to have just to look at. If I had the oppertunity I would have bought it in a heart beat. Actually to show this is what happens when you drink, drive and race around on the street. 2ndpic is not all that long after. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...-30448-004.jpg

Re: 69 z camaro

Damn. .come on with more pics and storyline....
And the 39 years disparity....

I guess the seller pulled the motor and trans to check those.

X-Ram Car?

iluv69s 08-14-2015 12:41 AM

Re: 69 z camaro

if it were x-ram wouldnt they have removed The throttle lever and connected a cable for the throttle linkage most likely? I see they relocated the coil bracket...???

Day2_69Z 08-14-2015 12:02 PM

Re: 69 z camaro

I thought the same thing.....
But I kept in mind that at the time of the crash it already had 63,000 miles on it and was about 7 years old. Pics show added Lakewood bars, aftermarket tires and wheels......etc.
A cross ram then was not an expensive add as it us today (relative) .
Mechanical linkage was common then on a GM or Aftermarket unit such as WIEAND or Edelbrock.....

The secret lays In when the engine and trans was pulled..... and I think it was Soon after it crashed.
Its hard to believe that a blown up original 302 was replaced by a Dealer with a Older Incorrect CE.
A little embellished Info by the seller may be underlying.
I feel the engine was added by the past owner as that's what he could afford in a "used engine"
Who's to say for sure......but the fella here with a connection may shed some light on it.......
After all its really a moot point other than the entertainment value for us to digest.

I'd still leave it alone and preserve it as is.
Its worth much more this way than as a parts car.

Its in the low $4's. Now as of today

What a neat thing to see ......

We are preservers, builders & restorers. .
If somebody takes on this as a base to end up with something....God Bless there endeavor.

I still believe the best scenario is leave it be, preserve it with chemicals to slow down the deteriorated condition

If I'm not mistaken , a few years back they found a Talbot Logo in a British or Irish lake , in such poor condition. ,,,,, that they chemically dipped it and coated it 100% to "hold it together" ......built a mobile display support, ,,,
And sold it at a high end auction. North + $$$$ of the Best example on the planet.

Hemmings I believe. .or some exotic magazine did the feature from find to sale......
I thought what an amazing preservation act

It was a Bugatti. I remember the news about the find in the Swiss lake. Dumped there to by local officials after the owner abandoned it. He didn't have the cash in pocket to pay the import duties, 80 years ago.
