Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
Nice car! Needs docs to verify the big money options like 375hp, endura, RS. 10-10 on a real TT with X22 & D80 is cool though. IMO - VT should go.

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
I agree, Vinyl top should go.
Trim tag is real, never removed. Original fuel line. Original RS Tail pan Tach cluster. A very good friend of mine looked it over He's extremely knowledgeable , feels its real. I don't know what Docs are available. |
Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
Rear antenna is wrong as well if the tag is legit.. Id need to see a better pic of the tag before I felt comfortable saying 100% it was real but I am no expert.

Beautiful car!

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
that tag is real

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
the vinyl top and the Chevelle wheels (*I* prefer the traditional rally wheels) lend a bit of "class" to a heavily loaded L78, odd as most were not loaded with all the pricey options like this one has
Looks great anyway and I wouldn't touch a thing except "fix" the trim tag (WHY do so many people sand down the trim tags? It raises a red flag IMHO, they were NEVER done that way from the factory) |

Grille should be argent.

There were pics in lamm's "the great camaro" book. |

That Camaro is beautiful. Buying it Tom???
|
Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
Nope, not buying it.
It belongs to an acquaintance of mine and a mutual friend of ours is interested in it Priced at approximately $35k .....I don't think it's too bad of a price keeping in mind its a nice driver quality car. |

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
I imagine anyone could add a rear antenna and vinyl top but agree, if tag is real displaying D80 then rear antenna U73 was not available from the factory. Also if vinyl roof is factory installed shouldn't tag read 10 B to the left of PNT, rather than 10 10?

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
Yes, vinyl top would be B.
Something is fishy here. Is that an 05D tag? Would like to hear from KurtS on this one. |
Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
I have a different pic of the tag. Still not great, but I don't see any red flags.
Sounds like it used to have a restamped block with a VIN on the pad, now a CE. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?p=504281 NOR335923 I would be interested in the rest of VIN (PM me) if you know it. |
Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
If tag is original, then rear antenna was added. That means at the very least, the RF fender was patched (unless it didn't have a radio originally, but who would order a car with deluxe interior and no radio) or RF fender was replaced.
Not saying it isn't worth 35K. Just needs some serious investigation. |
Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
I'd give him 35 if he'd allow inspection of the numbers behind the heater box... and they matched, of course. I think the L78 and ZL2 were added by a previous owner.

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
I never said the tag wasnt legit.. I just wanted a better pic.. The rear antenna was the red flag for me but then again I tend to be cautious when it comes to a "10" paint code... Could have been someone just not knowledgeable with the options.. I just would want to be 110% sure before I paid any $$$$ down..

Re: 69 X22D80 L78 RSSS Code 10 10
I understand it being an older resto but a stripe delete car as well? Maybe the owner at the time decided not to put stripes back on the car? The remote mirror is nice! Still a good looking car!
