Some Motion swag of my own.

I finally found a bunch of my old papers. Back in the day the owner of my 73 Camaro bought a mirrored dash cluster insert. When I bought the car in 1988,he gave me the receipt. It isn't anything crazy, but it is my own little piece of Motion performance.

It still shines up nice.

Haha. The rest of the car is my daily driver. It started life as a plain Jane 307/th350/2.73 posi/F41 suspention car. It now has a 400 HP 400 small block, the same th-350,and it had 3.90's but I swapped in some 3.08's. I am building a good 200r4 for it so that I can put the 3.90's back in. I tubbed the car out back in the day,and un-tubbed the car using a clip from a 79,so now I need to put all the sheet metal and trunk floor back to a 1973.

Yup,it makes over 400 HP with the single horn air cleaner. I call this my street racer special setup.

Just part of what I have to fix the rear clip.

Summer of 92. This is what happens when a 21 year old kid with big dreams and a bunch of cut off wheels gets in over his head.

BTW,this IS NOT a Motion car and has nothing to do with the invoice in my other tread. It just has my little piece of Motion performance on it.

Unfortunately,I had a little set back last month. Driving to work in a sleepy stupor, there was a little mishap.

I rounded up all the parts to fix it,but just need some time.

After over 26 years,I am finally happy with the way it looks under the hood. The Motion "Street racer special" package ain't got nuthin on me. I would tell you how fast it is but I would have to kill ya. :-)

I am debating if I should hold out for the correct "long" L-88 hood,or just go with what I have. I already have 2 quarts of base ready to respray the front clip after the damage,so I might just make the leap.

LOL, it's the Camaro cousin to my Gramma's 75 Firebird Esprit. Even the sleeper engine replacement! And the color!

Go with the L/88 hood. I love that style.

2nd Gen Camaros and L-88 Hoods are perfect together.

Re: Some Motion swag of my own.

Yeah Steve. I bought the car back in 1994 because I needed a shell to stick all the race parts from my 73 Camaro into. The car has been a Chevy powered race car almost all it's life. When I got it,it was a roller, but had already been made a street racing legend by that time. It had everything from a nitrous injected 454 under the hood,to a 10,000 rpm ex-pro stock 331 of reputed Jenkins fame under the hood in the decade or more before I bought it. I bracket race, and need to get 500+ maintence free runs out of a 600+ HP engine. I got over 700 runs out of my last 427 with nothing more than twice a year oil changes, and on timing chain, and the entire engine intake to pan cost about $6500. I couldn't never expect that out of a Pontiac engine, and certainly not for that kind of money. Once the 427 goes in the expro stock 70 Camaro that I am restoring,I may build the Firebird as a 1970 era Pontiac powered Nostalgia pro stocker. That would probably be more than a decade from now though.
