1970 Yenko Deuce 4 speed Citrus Green #160
1970 Yenko Deuce 4 speed Citrus Green #160
Based on the info provided by the Yenko Deuce Registry, Marlin Spotts; Out of approx 175, 1970 Yenko Deuce LT1 COPOs sold by Yenko Sports Cars Inc. less than 100 are registered and accounted for. Of those it is estimated that only 10 were built in Citrus Green and only one of those had power steering and a 4 speed. (This is that Deuce). It is believed to have been Sold new from Sam Leman Chevrolet om Roanoke, Illinois. We have the car documented back to the 1980s, when Jerry Janota, purchased the car from whom we believe were the second owners. It was frame off restored by Bob Joyce approx 9-10 years ago and was driven on the power tour in 2005. Based on the history of the car as we know it and Jerry's verification that he bought the car with the original drivetrain, we believe the car to have the original, engine, original trans as well as original rear end housing. Much time labor, effort and correct parts have gone into this resto. Jerry Janota provided a affidavit regarding the originality of the engine. I have info from another Citrus Deuce which had remained in the same family until just a few years ago, where the original engine had been decked so no code or VIN was present, but the casting date also happens to match the one on this Deuce. Price is SOLD. Re: 1970 Yenko Deuce 4 speed Citrus Green #160
Saw the car at R&S - it looks spectacular. Really stood out in a sea of 'Vettes, Mustangs, 'Cudas, etc. Nicer in person than the pictures conveyed, IMO.

Re: 1970 Yenko Deuce 4 speed Citrus Green #160
This is one of those cars were each successive owner has improved it, very nice to see. I spent some time studying the photos, and the detailing is very good. Someone will get a very nice car here - correct 731 interior, appears to have original door panels (very hard to find!), rubber mat, correct shifter boot and bezel, etc....

Thanks for all of your help.
The Deuce is still available and located temporarily in AZ. |
Re: 1970 Yenko Deuce 4 speed Citrus Green #160
Sorry it didn't sell...seems like an interesting time to sell right now. Foreign iron (porsche, ferrari and MB) have gone through the roof from a pricing perspective. A nice car like this won't be around for long.

GLWS! </div></div> Thank you very much, we at Mascar worked very hard on this car, I truly love this car, the paint is amazing and the motor is a Kenny Maisano motor, fully blueprinted and runs amazing! I also want to thank Ken at Deuce Haven for all his input and guidance thought the restoration. Ken made himself available at all times and shared photos of his personal survivor car and was very helpful. This is one of the things l really like about this site, most everyone is very open to providing positive input and assistance, even potential competitors. This is an amazing car, the only reason why I sold it to Stefano is because I did not expect to like the Yellow Deuce that I purchased from Mike so much, its the car we built to run at SCR 18 .. We ran 10s all day long we made more than 25 runs in the car with a Maisano motor .. With cast iron heads I might add. Anyone who buys this car will be very happy! |
