70 rs/z project value
What's a 70 rs/z project z worth these days? Car has a build sheet. All numbers matching w/4spd. Needs correct smog setup and manifolds. Car is pretty rust free in semi survivor condition with mostly original paint In running driving condition. Colors are hugger orange with black stripes and black interior. Interior is 50% original with new front seat covers and headliner. 3 owner with 115k miles
Thanks |
Re: 70 rs/z project value
If it can be left as a survivor, it would be worth more. If it will be restored, I would say $15 to $17. A correct restoration would put you underwater.

Re: 70 rs/z project value
I would think at least 25-30K.

Re: 70 rs/z project value
I concur with Charlie. Numbers matching 4sp car with RS and good colors? In mostly rust free survivor kind of shape? With paper? In a sea of earth tone automatic full bumper cars, somebody is going to pay up for that.

Re: 70 rs/z project value
Yes.........desireable car......I can POST pics of Jack Seymours (sold) 70 Hugger Orange survivor
but I'm assuming this car is not a high quality survivor and does need resto ??? Somebody pays $25K plus a resto you break even if your lucky........ on 2nd thought, NO as paint would cost most of $20K plus everything else involved......your UNDERWATER!!!!!!!!! If you truly want to keep and enjoy car it might be workable I'll buy this project depending upon location, pictures and price...... I already own everything it could need...... Might as well have another unfinished/unrestored 70' Camaro......!!!! |

Re: 70 rs/z project value
This is a car I'm looking at purchasing. I'm hoping to see it in the next day or two. Im hoping it can be a car that can be preserved for a while and leave as is. Have to many projects underway right now. Thanks for all the input.

Re: 70 rs/z project value
It looks better in pictures! Unfortunately the previous owner took some black paint and repainted the center portion of the black stripes on hood and trunk lid. And he did some orange paint on the drivers fender. Car was bumped on the right side qtr and door so it's got a replacement door (Gm used) but over all I'd say about 60% factory paint. Front seat covers have been replaced. And dash pad. Floors and trunk are in great shape. Rt fender has rust in the normal spot. And the left qtr has some rust. Has a few wrong components on it like carb and headers. But overall it's in good shape and it's a good solid optioned driver. I'd like to see if I can fix the stripes and front fender and keep it original. Stay tuned.....

Re: 70 rs/z project value
Congratulations on the Z. Why couldn't I find something like that when I was looking to buy my collector car? I had to settle for my 1969 Corvette when I really wanted a '70 Z28.

Re: 70 rs/z project value
Wow, great find. Enjoy it!

Re: 70 rs/z project value
Even 25k would be a good deal on that car. Right colors, options and RS to boot.
Congrats. Rich |
