NMW Style Tow Bar Tab Pins

I know how tough it can be to find vintage style pins for the tow tabs. After quite a long search, I've found the closest thing to the originals. These will require the retaining spring clip to be drilled though.

Offering them for $20 per pair plus shipping (likely USPS). Reply with interest to [email protected]

Paul - I hope u know I was kidding. My comment was referring to the Chebby in the back ground. My weird sense of humor. Your pins look great!

Sam, I'm ashamed to say I got the joke after I posted, but at least before you replied.

I was at a punk rock show in Philly last Friday and spied a kid sporting a Bethlehem Steel hat.

Paul,
Pins arrived today - they will work perfectly.

Any chance I can get the measurements for the hole size and placement?

Thanks again.

Re: NMW Style Tow Bar Tab Pins

Hope this is enough, but ask if anything needs to be clarified.

Both pins are close enough to be considered the same length.

If you measure from flat side under the radius head, this should do a good place to locate the hole.

http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/w...psjpfn1xxx.jpg

You can use a 13/64 drill bit, then chamfer the hole.

The pin is a little bigger than the cheapie at the flea markets.

The radius is also bigger.

I've revisited these pins. If anyone wants a set which I've drilled and zinc plated, they are now available. These pins are available for $50 including shipping to the lower 48.

In this thread there have been questions about the hairpin clips. Any of the inexpensive ones will work. If you care about correctness, the ones listed here at the www.etrailer.com website are what I've found to be the most correct.

As you can see there any plenty of other pins- commonly used on trailer hitches but they are smaller in diameter and the radius of the loop area is also off form the original style. It really is splitting hairs, but something some will notice. I figured I would point it out.

I've got a limited quantity of the more correct configuration, and I am willing to include those hairpins for Yenko.net members. Please contact me at [email protected]. Most of you I know, but if you are not sure, please remind me that you area Yenko member.
