Prout copo
Was wondering if anyone out there has a list or database with Copo body numbers for any other prout 1969 camaros.
The car I am referring is a daytona yellow double copo 06A car vin N661202 with the body number 351354. X44 car with black standard interior. My understanding is that prout ordered 10 copos, all equipped similiar and did some major newspaper advertising june 28 thru july 20 in local papers. I have copies of some of the ads. NCIB report states this car delivered june 25. Any other known cars in this batch? |
Re: Prout copo
There are other Prout cars that are sprinkled all around this one as well as a large amount of Canadian documented Copos . Jim Pierces black Copo car that was a school teachers car sold at Prout is body number 351350 . Another known Prout Copo car is body number 351352 it is a Burgundy car . The closest vin number I see is 661189 and it's a Canadian car . Prout ordered the cars as X44 and no rear spoilers . There is another Copo with body number 351471. Mike Miller is the man with a huge database of Copo cars especially northeast Ohio Copos cars because he lives up there . I will contact him and ask him to chime in . That is another known Copo car and in Daytona Yellow

Re: Prout copo
I was contacted by Doug P and Mark B with in 5 min of each other about a car that was being sold at a up coming auction all I was told was the body number (351354) no vin at that time and did I have any other cars around that body number. I told them that I had 2 other Prout car that where ordered at the same time Body number (351350) and (351352). So I started to look at the vin#s around the (351354) car that was up for auction I found over 15 cars that had the low 661 to high 660 vin#s. I have been collecting copo info for many years, I don't know what the discrepancy is on this car I have never seen this car or even know how owns it, I just know that these early cars where built in batches, I have at least 10 plus dealers that ordered malty cars and the body numbers are consecutive. I hope I helped!!!! I'm not someone that chime in!!! I think this is my first post besides trying to sell my ZL1.

Re: Prout copo
Thanks guys. I thought there were other body numbers that were very close to this one. What color was the ZL1 and did you sell it?

Re: Prout copo
I sold my ZL1 about 5 or 6 years ago to legendary motor cars in Canada it's fathom green.

Green copo at legendary
Does that car have all born with drivetrain? Is the body mostly original. Thanks

I live right down the street from the old Prout dealer. I had a Olympic Gold, sports car conversion Prout COPO. I would love to find out where the car is now; especially since I know where the original engine is!

Try searching the VIN through DMV. |
It was a 05E car, no radio, it still had the BE rear in it. All original metal except for the quarter panels. I still have the VIN.

wow a GOLD double copo in about the 650xxx vin range?
|
Sorry about the typo it was a 03E car. I know of two other “Prout COPO’s” that we’re made in the same week. Non of them had the big sway bar or tach with the center fuel gauge. The sticker on back of the plastic gauge cluster did have the part number for the 140 speedo. The other cars also did not have a radios as well.

There were a number of late march COPO's including a grouping of Yenkos. Actually except for the Lordstown Firebird transition over to Norwood during April there were COPO groupings every 2-3 weeks it seems like.
