70 L78 Buildsheet
 

Im looking to get some opinions on this buildsheet. I recently purchased the car knowing the sheet could be fake, it was one of those now or never deals and i didnt want to pass on it. The car has had 2 owners in the last 20 years.

Looks legit.
Your rear &amp; engine code are correct,they didn't use the full 3 letter suffix on the BS for these.
I think I know this Cortez NA-9 car,good bones.

I have copys of 2 Van Nuys sheets and I see some discrepancies but I'll wait and see what others say. That sheet looks artificially aged IMO.

I compared it to my Van Nuys build sheet and also see some differences although minor. The brightness of the print is the biggest red flag for me.

I appreciate the input. The answers are all over the place and I don't want to falsely market the car.

Looks OK to me too.* My previously owned '70 LS5 Chevelle Convertible was built a few weeks later than this one but at the Van Nuys facility. My buildsheet font was a bit darker as well.

* comparing to photo &amp; copy of my original that is now with new owner.

Got the NCRS. This buildsheet is FAKE. Build sheet states Davies Chevy as selling dealer, NCRS states Bale Chevy

I have not looked over that sheet but that information does not make for a fake sheet. It is common practice for one dealer to trade cars with other dealers and I have documented this a few times on my LS6 restorations. If the two dealers are within trading distance you might consider that to be what took place. Where is Bale Chevrolet located?

No Chevelles made at Norwood. For mid-west to east Chevelle plants: Kansas city, Atlanta, Baltimore, Framingham, Arlington Tx.

I'm certain the build sheet is a fake (knew it before you most recently posted). Font is off for one thing. I've seen so many original sheets that the repros really stand out (to me anyway).

Bale Chevrolet in Little Rock?

Yeah. Im not going to sell it as a real car, and the next buyer is not going to recieve the buildsheet either. Yes, Little Rock Arkansas

Nice the NCRS has that service available. That made it easy to verify the dealer on the build sheet. If only they would make that service available for the fullsize cars!

The build sheet and NCRS origin report should have the same dealer on it. That sheet was created with the ordering dealer name on it, not the selling dealer if it was a dealer transfer. Maybe some day we will be able to validate other Chevrolet paperwork.

Right, it should match the top dealer box on the build sheet.
