2017 COPO Pete Shootout
 

OK folks, the time is drawing closer for Dru Diesner to defend his Title as Champion of the 2016 COPO Pete Shootout. Rumors are already flying that Dru may be bringing another car. I guess nothing says he has to defend with the same car so let's get things rolling. Anyone think they have something for Dru this year? Any trash talkin'? Any challenges? Any grudge races? How about some call-outs?

Let us know what you have and who you think will hold the COPO Pete Shootout Trophy at the end of SCR 20 !

Well, I would love to see a certain Post Sedan Chevelle win it.....But Dru is Da Man!

I made it known on Facebook last night that Dru better load up his truck with Whoop Ass. I comin' and hell is comin' with me!!

Dru and I are trying to convince a former Bad A$$ SCR Contender to come join us.....if he does agree to attend SCR....I predict he will be in the Finals :D

Is the Shootout a run what you brung heads up?

We run cars and time trials for 3-4 hours so guys can adjust to the track ...then everyone gets out the magic shoe polish and posts a number on their window... then we run on times and bracket race. Dan I am thinking of a guy with the initials P. G. ?

Bill you will have fun . I hear a bad Nova is coming from Pennsylvania (The Professor) Bennie Pfeifer...this dude means business ....cuts a mean light . The race I want to see is The Professor vs. Tom (The Undertaker) Clary.

Hopefully Pete G. can make it. Along with Dru, always puts on a show. Long, smokey burnouts and gear jamming shifts (4-speed). If he does not break, I would not bet against him.

Another one who has had a breakage problem, but when on his game is hard to beat, is Rob in the Yellow sub. I have seen him trailer several Mopars at the Pure Stock Drags.

I assume safety gear is needed depending on how fast you run?

We need a list of all racers that are attending?

You can reference these.. Although I do not know how strict Beech Bend will be.. BITD on test and tune nights the requirements were battery hold down, helmet if you are faster than 9.99 in the 1/4 and a driveshaft loop faster than 13.99..

Tom or Doug can say what all the Reunion will require to run over what BB requires..

The rules are very relaxed.... cars 12.00 and slower have been helmet ...regular street car seat belts. Some guys wear shorts in slower cars and it's aloud but I don't recommend it ...for your own personal safety I would say driveshaft loop, change anti freeze to water....check your axles . There will be plenty of people there with tools to assist in any mechanical failures. Cars faster than 11 seconds should abide by NHRA rules. Cages are always recommended at 11.50 or faster but not enforced there. I run faster than that and they have a relaxed the rules for the day
