My first Mopar
3 Attachment(s)
Yes after 40 years in the car hobby, I purchased my first non GM car, yep a Mopar. My interests started in the Trans Am cars like the Z28, so I thought an 4spd AAR Cuda would be the best choice. I always knew how unique they were from; fiberglass hood, tri-power, side exhaust, strobe stripe and different tire sizes F & R. I think my friend Frank Badalson rubbed off on me. I haven't even driven it because it's been raining since I took delivery, but tomorrow's weather looks fantastic.

You are gonna love it, fantastic car. I had one in high school, wish I never sold it.

Congrats Steve. Cool ride. That checks a lot of boxes for me too. Love the Mopars - I think they were the most over the top with features, colors, advertising, bullet proof drive trains, and the noisiest/rattiest doors on the market. ENJOY!!

Sweet Jesus! Love it!! Have fun driving that one and remember.... Mopars are like Lay's tato' chippies.... Yippy can have just one!
Cheers Dave |

Steve like you I had many GM cars before I got my first Mopar. You will not be disappointed. In my opinion the best engineered drivetrain back in the day. My experience with Mopars has all been big block automatics, and WOW fun to drive and pull so hard. The torqueflights are shifting monsters. So rugged and fun to spin the tires when shifting with no shift kits!
That is a beautiful car and on my bucket list to get before too much longer. Enjoy and what a great car! |
Very nice Steve. My GTX is red/red also

Very nice. I think the AAR had the best looking hood of all the muscle cars.
|
Great acquisition Steve! I love body-colored matching interiors.
Some minor advice: 1) Leave the hood unlatched and unpinned when it's stored. Otherwise the fiberglass hood will bow in the middle - similar to the dreaded hood bow on the Firebirds with the fiberglass Formula hood. 2) Very Important on Mopars with body colored engine compartments: if that is a lead/acid original style repro battery, get rid of it immediately and get the sealed AGM version. The acid vapors that vent out the top will permanently stain the red paint on the inner fenders around the battery and get absorbed by the fiberglass hood. |

It would be awesomer if you change the tires. Don't get me wrong, I like BFG's.

"I actually have the correct tires, and at some point will install them. I drive my cars, and will sacrifice correctness for driveability. I may install the new Coker Firestone radials on my Firebird".
Nice! |
Congrats! Looks Awesome!

Great car, congrats! For a small block, you picked one of the fastest. I am jealous.
