Gorgeous pepper green RAIV GTO. Unreal that it came with those caps and whitewalls...I bet those lasted about 12 hours before the original owner swapped 'em for Cragars.

I'm in love with that car.

scuncio 02-03-2018 02:02 AM

That makes two of us. It literally looks like a new car.

Mr. Chevy 02-03-2018 02:11 AM

Beautiful car...

Rich

The Boss 02-03-2018 12:05 PM

Same colors as my IV Judge.

That poor car has been bouncing around for years not getting the respect it deserves.

McCune 02-03-2018 01:14 PM

That car lives right down the street from me. It is even better in person. Outstanding restoration.

downunder1 02-03-2018 06:55 PM

WOW, that car ticks all of the boxes.

mockingbird812 02-03-2018 10:41 PM

SWEET ride!!! Love it. Looks like it was done right. This isn’t Bulletpruf’s car is it?

marxjunk 02-03-2018 11:34 PM

yep.. WAS Bulletproofs...like Chris said, it keeps bouncing around...needs a real car guy to give it all the respect it deserves...

its an incredible car...it needs someone to get it and hang onto it....flippers be flippin it just too much...

he bought some NOS stuff from for the car from me a bunch of detail stuff, and it deserved it....stuff i hoarded for years..lol..

Charley Lillard 02-04-2018 12:27 AM

Did Bulletproofs have it's orig. engine ? I thought he had changed seats, rims etc ?

marxjunk 02-04-2018 01:56 AM

theres a build on it on PY, i will see if i can find it and link it

marxjunk 02-04-2018 02:02 AM

looks like he built it for a pure stock drag car..i didnt remember that at all..i just found the thread and i found the pics to make sure it was the same car...i didnt read all the way thru it..

the orig engine is known to exist and he knows who has it...

looks like it went for $95k the first time it moved

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=585683

Charley Lillard 02-04-2018 04:44 AM

So we are sure it is the same car and that it does not have it's orig. engine, contrary to the Ebay listing ?

tom406 02-04-2018 06:15 AM

It's a different car. Bulletpruf's car was restored with a bench seat. The two cars have been for sale at the same time more than once. I always marveled how odd it was that two well restored Pepper Green/green RA IV GTOs could have the misfortune of having to compete with each other.

Charley Lillard 02-04-2018 01:11 PM

I thought I had remembered Bulletproof doing the opposite of what most would do with the interior. Wasn't it a bucket seat car with fancier wheels from the factory ?

marxjunk 02-04-2018 04:32 PM

i see..i was cornfused..i didnt realize there where 2...

tom406 02-04-2018 06:42 PM

Charley-that's what sticks out to me too-while the rest of the world is busy fitting bucket seats and rally wheels to SS396 Chevelles and Road Runners, he put a bench and dog dishes on a buckets/Rally II equipped GTO.

scuncio 05-23-2018 02:02 AM

STILL for sale...I can't believe no one has bought this yet.

That is an amazing GTO. I cannot believe it does not have a new caretaker either

Confused! So as I recall Scott (bulletproof) had a replacement block in his car. Is this Scott's old car? Am I wrong about original block. Is the ebay link in previous link a different car because they say w/o a doubt it has the original block?:dunno:

PeteLeathersac 05-23-2018 08:48 PM

'

Confusing as they're amazingly similar but two totally different cars!
Info indicates;
- Scott Bulletpruf's car w/ Bench + RWL Tires + NOM also Original Engine known but not w/ car.
- Ebay car w/ Buckets + WW Tires also reported original engine but unconfirmed - VIN 242370P187369
:beers:

Scott's old car has a replacement block built to Pure Stock Drags level, which was the goal before the concourse resto bug bit. As I recall, he found the original block which had long been installed in another 70 RAIV GTO (Judge I think?) but couldn't convince that owner to sell or swap.

That's the truth - name/number of block owner travels with the car.

Member Baron Von Zeppelin sent me this info to post.....
Just wanted to pass along some overlooked info dividing Scott/B-pruf old car and the other Green 70 IV 4spd.

Scotts was
Dk Grn
Blk Buckets / Blk Interior
Console
4.33
4spd
No PS
Manual Drums
Poverty Caps with WhiteWall G70

Deleted some minor accessory options
Deleted Console , Radio , 8 Track
Went with 3.90 gears
Changed to Bench Seat - added RWL Tires

The other car has Green Interior
easiest thing to point out on them now.

This '70 RAIV car has been relisted for a few grand shy of $140k, in the link below.

A good friend of mine has the actual REAL numbers block for this car in his Red 70 RAIV. Both cars were ordered at the same time and are only 400 vin's away. My friend has had his since 71 at which time his original motor was already gone. He bought the green cars block for $400 way back when off another friend.

Wow, would he seller to the owner of green car?

65blackcoupe 12-21-2019 04:27 PM

I'll ask but the engine is in the car now. I would probably have to find him a better replacement and other than his original block, I don't know if you can get any better than a block 400 vin's away ordered from the same dealership, Wells Pontiac. The bench seat car, not the car in the last ad posted.

mockingbird812 12-21-2019 04:39 PM

Hopefully the greater good will be considered. Keep us posted!

BCreekDave 12-21-2019 09:15 PM

Just noticed that the RAIV GTO's had a different tach redline than the RAIV TA's (5K vs 5.5K). Is that correct? Seems like they should be the same, but I know about zero about these cars.

auwrestling 12-22-2019 12:15 AM

No not correct it should be the same red line
