Here it is at the NOCC show on Thursday. Had to adjust the clutch, timing, and add "day-2" NOS mallory plug wires at the show.
thanks to Van Hurst, Jeff LoSapio, and Robert Voges for helping me at the show! |
Also Phil Woj got a little dirty and scratched up helping with clutch adjustment.
Thanks Phil, your L89 is awesome! |

I forgot to add that I also converted to manual steering and a vintage Ansen 2-Piece scattershield.

Cool, good choice in the L88!

Very, very cool, Jim! It was nice just randomly running into you at the gas station here in town!

Yes, great running into you Mark as I was filling up at local gas stop before heading the 300 miles home to Clarendon Hills, IL.

Few more pics of the M22 rockcrusher going in, RIXLS6 (Rick Pauley) chilling and a pic from 5 years ago in 2013

That was a very ambitious project, just before a show too, but it worked. Your car sounded great and looked great. Glad it all worked out. The car was an excellent addition to the show.
|
Jim, the car came out great.. Sounds very nasty...

Wednesday nights are a good Test and Tune night. Dan |
I loved hearing your car, way before it was in view, right after the clutch thing as you drove into the display area. AWESOME
Hope you get the rest of the bugs worked out too. Was great seeing all the Chi Town crew again. :beers: Mike |

Playing with my car sign tonight trying to show new "day-2" mods.
I think I may put a line through the L78, Smog, 3:55 gear, etc. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
I like the sign for originality, to show it was a "real deal" L78. And the caption listing the day2/3 modifications. Almost day 3 as a "back in the day" owner might have detonated the L78, and opted to put in the L88. Stuff like that happened all the time.
|
Any chance you will bring your car to the Wichita or Kansas City Chevelle shows next month? I'd like to hear that L88.
|
What are the dates of the KC show?
|
Gotta love an L88... I love their exhaust note.
