You hear more tires, then car...it needs to make more noise!

You guys are too funny. The video’s sound doesn’t work!! I’m sure once they fix that it will sound aWeSoMe! :hmmm::rolleyes2::bs:

I already think it is awesome. I don't care if it is gas, diesel or electric power. Heck, I would drive it with a gang of hamsters running on wheels if it would get me down the track that quickly.

10.02 is awesome.

Yawn... Same unimpressed feeling we get with electric Jr Dragsters. One thing we noticed in the Jr world is that they are not nearly as consistent (yet) as they claimed. However, tire spin is completely nonexistent because of the ability to tune the power curve with a laptop - legal or not, how could they possibly police that....

Neither of my boys could give a S about the E cars.

cheveslakr 02-25-2019 03:15 PM

If I was deaf I wouldn't mind so much but since I still have my hearing I kinda want to hear noise. That's the reason nitro cars pack the stands.

I will say it is rather humiliating getting beat by an electric at the drag strip. Family fun-day last year and I got lined up with a Tesla. I thought he red lit as it simply drove away. It was my first time to the strip in 10 years and had the best times I have ever gone.

It went 9.83 a couple weeks ago.

if you can't hear and FEEL the pounding of each cylinder firing, I don't want it. Yes its fast, no doubt but a huge part of Drag racing is the sound and feeling which is totally lost with electrics

When they get the auto-pilot stuff fully figured out you can just sit in the back seat with a beer while your car races the car in the next lane. Maybe they will be in the eights or sevens by then. Both cars cutting perfect lights (wifi-closed loop with the tree by then, won't even need lights!).

mockingbird812 02-26-2019 01:09 PM

"back seat with a beer" - you are not dreaming big enuff Dave. You can be sittin' on the beach with a beer and remotely piloting via wifi interface system from another hemisphere and have the results texted to you within milliseconds of the races end or maybe use thot control while hacking into satelites and .....

BCreekDave 02-26-2019 02:01 PM

You are probably right, I just figured the NHRA would at least like the "drivers" to show up for the race! Spectators are getting to be optional already.

x33rs 02-26-2019 04:35 PM

They sure are taking all the fun out of this stuff.

Guess I'm old school but I like the sounds and the smells, and love the need to wrench on and freshen engines, tune carbs etc... I just enjoy the whole experience, but if this is the direction of things to come, I likely will be visiting the track less and less.
