Hurst/Schwinn Hustler Team BMX
Here's another project I finished up recently. It's got some cool Day 2 I think?

pretty cool!

wow that's awesome
|
That is cool! You have to bring it to MCACN for our Bicycle "Show Within the Show". I'm sure it would be well received.

That is righteous man!

That is a Bad Ass, and who doesn’t like a 69
I want to get a crate bike and do it up, |
That is fan-friggin' tastic! I'm an old BMXer and I like that Schwinn from the early, almost embryonic stage of BMX. Everyone had a Schwinn Stingray back in the day.
Oh, and absolutely love the HO too. |
Love it!
|
I want one!!
I have a couple extra RamRod shifters...... Ryan W31 |
Man, I keep coming back to look at the HO as well as the bike. Can't get enough of it.
|
That is too cool!!
|
Cool love this..
|
That is seriously cool.
As a kid growing up in the early 70's, I totally remember having those exact wheels on my bike, Around 73/74 those were the hottest ticket. Love the whole Hurst theme. Nicely done. |
Is that something Hurst built ?

Those bike wheels are Mongoose Motomags.

Thanks for the compliments. I really had fun putting it together. I've got another one that's coming along and hope to have done soon and will share :)

Very cool. I've seen the pics of your bike around the traps.
I'm an old school BMX guy as well. A couple of my BMX Products bikes. Moto Trac and Team Rampar. |

Cool story Tommy, one that I have read about a few times in regard to the Blue Max bmx's and the overseas military bases. The Blue Max along with Jag, Team Rampar, Moto Trac and a couple of others were made by BMX Products, the producers of Mongoose. The Motomag wheels that you see on these bikes were cast by Cragar for Skip Hess of BMX Products. |
Love it!

Tommy, that's good information. I didn't realize they were sold on military bases. Back when I was into collection OS BMX I had a Blue Max frame that I built up and sold off. A beautiful bike with very nice chrome. Sorry yours got stolen; I had an absolutely killer early round-hole gusset Scott Clark model Robinson that was pretty trick for the times (center-pull rear brake, Euro BB, relatively rarely seen Torker stem, Ukai shiny sides, Maxy Cross cranks, etc.) that got stolen from my nephew who was using it. Broke my heart when I found out.

I’d have to have a banana seat ant a sissy bar on there. Lol

That was a pretty awesome creation OP!
After my banana seat bike with ape hangers I got into BMX bikes. I had a real nice Kuwahara for a while, but like others, some scumbag decided he wanted it more than me. I ended up with a GT in the end and still have it. My now 18 yo used it and now my 7 yo is riding it. I showed him how to ride backwards on the handlebars the other day. He was cracking up. Eventually I'll "restore" the bike just because. Maybe the Grandkids will use it someday! Not anytime soon I hope... Here it is when I pulled it out of the barn for my youngest. I'm amazed that the original tires have survived. |
