This car has been at MCACN previously.

now, that is a car alarm bell!
|
Any idea as to what the CA id tag on the door is about. Larry

Notice the way the factory applied the crossed flag decal crooked on the air breather. goes to show that the object was to get them down the line. My original car has a fender support bolt that was cross threaded from the factory and simply run halfway in, rather than tapping the hole and properly installing a replacement. Also has a Firebird trunk decal sticker.
|
Is it ever, resembles my Gas Station bell.
|
I guess the original owner drilled those holes in the bottoms of the rockers to promote drainage and prevent rust. Or was that done for some kind of undercoating?
|
I like that.
|
I like redlines and steelies, but I would be in a hurry to put some vintage torque thrusts or Cragars on that car. Luv everything else about it!! That 325 hp stick would be fine with me.
|
I know where there are four mint American Racing wheels T70Rs for sale that would look great on that car.

I looked at the link and do not see the car listed under 2016. What are the award classifications in ranking order. Larry

In the truck plant we would get a bigger gun and run it the rest of the way in (until the weld nut broke loose). K |

We did certify the car @MCACN 2016 and it was awarded Heritage. The owner was provided score sheets which he could provide you with specifics. If he is unable to find, I can provide them with his approval. I know he was addressing some things in our report. The owner is a great guy. Vintage Certification Awards are divided into five divisions:

Thank you it must be the car that’s listed as a rs/ss I’ll contact the owner about seeing results. Larry

I have long wondered about the door latch screws. I have an original paint 67 granada gold Camaro and the screws are not painted. My thought process is the doors were painted without the latches in them leaving the latch and screws unpainted. Latch and screws installed after the doors were painted leaving them unpainted.
|
67 the latches were installed after paint.
68 and 69 the latches were installed before paint. My 69 Z had traces of paint on the latch (most of the paint would have fallen off, because the latch was greasy and oily) but the latch screws were painted body color. My car had never been repainted before I did it. I have had it since 75. |
Good to know Lynn! Thank you

Are those heater hose brackets correct, never seen those before?

68 SS Camaro
Finally a 1968 Camaro SS stripe done right! Restorers should use this car to nail down the proper placement and design of the stripe. Almost every SS stripe I see are not correct. To me, it really doesn't take any more effort to do it right.

Hadn't noticed it previously but the Offer to Purchase notes a different VIN than the car. POP also booklet page look good, salesman mistake or buyer delivered a different BRG L35 car?:hmmm: Otherwise scrapes and all, I love this car! :beers: ~ Pete . |

Maybe that's why the car doesn't have styling trim group likes shown on the purchase order. ?
|
I see that the names on the Offer to Purchase and the POP are very similar yet slightly different... M C Tennant vs Melvin S Tennant. Perhaps a parent signed the offer for his son or daughter who’s name is on the POP? They could have written the offer on one car, and then saw another car on the lot that they liked better at the time of delivery, which would account for the discrepancy on the VIN. I’m posting the 124378N479213 VIN from the Offer to Purchase here so it can be searched for future reference. I did a google search on that VIN and no matches came up.
