#s '67 Z/28...Very Nice...Great Docs

Neat car with some incredible docs rarely seen on a SHP Chevy...sold new at Berglund Chevy in Jamestown, NY. Z/28 fender emblem is weird but I love the car overall.

Very cool car but I agree about those fender emblems! 1967’s are my favorite Z’s mainly because the lack of emblems.

I saw the car in person back in 1990 and 1992 and took pictures. The original cowl tag was damaged during the restoration prior to when I saw it but was still on the car. It currently has a reproduction cowl tag and it has been on there for quite a few years now. I believe the original tag was kept but whether it made its way to the current owner, I don't know.

Yes, that is correct. This gave you heat insulators on the brake caliper pistons and metallic linings for the rear drums. More info can be found here... http://www.camaros.org/metallic.shtml

Car has been discussed on this site before.
At least they didn't put a spoiler on it.

Any chance the holes for the Z/28 emblems and the original 302 emblems are the same?

If not, why wouldn't they have addressed that during the repaint?

Lastly, the tag. I know the story. I would rather put the damaged tag back on instead of a fake tag. Just don't think I could own a car with a fake tag.

It's interesting that the Z28 option is specified as the series. Was it already a common name like Super Sport in '67 ?

No 302 emblems on a '67. I agree on the spoiler, it would literally spoil the car's look. '68-'69 yes, stock '67, no.

70LT1Z28 09-14-2019 02:38 PM

the bid is at $72k already. what do you guys think how high will the bidding reach?

Mr70 09-14-2019 02:58 PM

It's past 80K..

Jonesy 09-14-2019 05:59 PM

Is that window sticker and order form legit??

70LT1Z28 09-21-2019 03:22 PM

i looked at the brake proportioning valve on the frame not correct date is 69 looks like the frame has been changed. proportioning valve does not lock in place has brake line clips.

Not anymore...2 retracted bids.

BCreekDave 09-21-2019 11:12 PM

Can someone educate me on these? Was the cowl plenum air cleaner a dealer installed option? I don't see anything on the window sticker or sales order that shows it. I've seen 67 Z's both with it and without it.

William 09-21-2019 11:43 PM

Headers and the plenum air intake were factory options "furnished loose" in the trunk. Dealer installation was at additional cost. The only way to know for certain a '67 was ordered with them is original paperwork. They are not obvious on paperwork unless you know the pricing:

Z28................................$358.10
Z28 w/plenum air intake...$437.10
Z28 w/exhaust headers.....$779.40
Z28 with both..................$858.40

1968 followed the same procedure.

Zedder 09-29-2019 03:32 PM

Back on eBay with a $139,500 buy it now!

It wasn’t back in the day. The vast majority of sale people knew nothing about these Camaros. Very unusual and suspect to see this on the Bill of sale. Kinda like COPO in crayon on a 1969 Camaro.

This car has been relisted in the link below - currently at $40k and change with the reserve not met.

Lynn 10-19-2019 03:09 PM

A list of issues would be nice.

Also, does anyone know if the ORIGINAL damaged trim tag was saved? Is it still around? Does it go with the car?

70LT1Z28 10-19-2019 03:55 PM

i talk to the original owner he said that the body shop damage his trim tag he does have the original.original owner not doing good health problems.

That's sounds like something I would say,,of course the body shop did it!
:ooo:

Lynn 10-20-2019 01:47 AM

Sorry to hear that the owner has health issues. Something we all are going to face eventually, if not already.

If he still has the tag, I believe the seller should post a picture of it. Would give the car more credibility in my book.

Pics of the car taken by me at the 1990 ICC Camaro show in the Poconos. Original owner Larry Ormsby and also Jerry MacNeish in a couple of the shots.

scuncio 11-14-2019 04:12 AM

Relisted in the link below...hope this one finds a good home.

resto4u 11-16-2019 03:16 PM

It should not have Z28 on front fender, incorrect battery, tires should be goodyear power cushion.

427TJ 11-16-2019 07:55 PM

Joel Rosen used "status" emblems on his conversions, at least that's the first time I ever heard the term. How many '67 Zs and "302" emblem '68 Zs got later Z/28 emblems attached by owners seeking a boost in status? I'd bet thousands of cars.

iluv69s 11-16-2019 08:11 PM

67 Z's are so undervalued and way much rarer than 68 or 69 Z.... and even rarer than a COPO with less than 250 known to exist. They all should be worth way more.

That being said, these cars rarely trade for the sellers asking price and although nice, this car with it's problems will be a tough sale I believe.

scuncio 03-11-2020 03:42 AM

This car is still looking for a home - relisted in the link below for $134,500.

Somebody needs to tell this guy that it isn't 2006 anymore!

scuncio 04-16-2020 02:49 AM

No kidding...this guy should have gotten out of the market then!

Relisted in the link below, with bidding around $15k so far.

I believe this car has been relisted at least a dozen times by now....

Too Many Projects 10-31-2020 02:56 PM

Sad to see it can't find a new home, but at the price expected, it seems it won't.

scuncio 11-21-2020 02:27 AM

Now $94.9k...getting cheaper:

My favorite year and and the coolest thing about a 1967 Z28 is it’s lack of outside identification. It’s a car that let it’s equipment do the talking instead of large, colorful badging that eventually morphed into giant decals.
