Calendar

Is there a MCACN calendar? If there isn't, there should be. I'd rather have one with some really cool cars than the ones with the lame cars that I pick up from my auto parts stores.

A12pilot 10-25-2019 12:26 PM

That’s a GREAT idea! And to piggyback that idea, maybe a Yenko.net one too with the proceeds benefitting the site? What say ye’ old Bobonie and Steveareeno???:rolleyes2:

Man..great idea Freddie!

Cheers:beers:
Dave

I agree! That would be an awesome idea! I have a hard time finding a good muscle car calendar every year. The only good calendars I’ve found Motorbook and Hemmings make. I can only imagine how sweet of a calendar MCACN or Yenko.net could make with all the great cars on this site or from the show. I know I would be in for an annual calendar purchase for both!!

A12pilot 10-26-2019 09:34 PM

Hmmmmmm.......:hmmm:I might have to spearhead this idea and take full credit for it!:cool2::no:

Maybe the first one will be “Member’s Rides” for Yenko.net, and the second for “Muscle of MCACN” for the big show!?!?:cool2::cool2::cool2:

Lemme talk to management and see if I can use persuasion to persuade the persuaders about this idea. Details will be henceforth forthcoming!

Cheers
Dave

big gear head 10-26-2019 10:58 PM

Maybe a A12 Super Bee and a Bullet Mustang tribute could be part of it? I'm sure that there are good pictures of them somewhere. Maybe some cars of SCR too? I know that there have been several real nice ones there, including an original owner ZL1.

A12pilot 10-27-2019 12:55 PM

Alrighty, I’ve started negotiations with Management. Legal is involved as well as HR. We should have some answers within a couple months!:rolleyes2:

Meanwhile, I’m going to post up a poll to see who, or whom (I can never remember when to use that word :hmmm:) would be interested in these calendars. The poll will dictate the price.:cool2:

So stay tuned for more info in the “Lounge” section. They’ll be such questions answered as “How much nudity is too much nudity?”, and “I’d think for the price of this calendar they could have used something better than a dot matrix printer and Crayola crayons!”

Great idea Freddie!!!:cool2::biggthumpup::worship:

Cheers:beers:

We did Members Rides Calendars a bunch of years back :)

So you are going to do this in your spare time? You just sit around and do nothing anyway. :D

Geez Freddie!:headbang:

big gear head 10-27-2019 05:30 PM

I don't think I've ever seen anyone with so much to do, and getting so much done. It's like there are a dozen Daves out there working all at the same time.

John Brown 10-27-2019 05:52 PM

We sure there aren't elves involved?

Hahaha! Man, you guys are rough!! Nope, no elves, and there is this lady you can ask directly to prove it! When you see her around the show this year (in civilian clothes:biggthumpup:), She’ll be fielding questions about my antics like, “How many Daves does it take to build a barn?” and “No, seriously, how many Daves do you own?!?!”:p

But yes, I believe I’ll spearhead this idea (why not?:rolleyes2:), but with the time constraints and whatnot, it’ll be a calendar for 2021 so we can strategerize this endeavor, run polls, have meetings and fly-ins, and really make sure it’s done up right! I mean, I’m fast, but I’m not THAT fast!:3gears:

Didn’t know there was a calendar before, Bruce. :hmmm: That was before my time, but do you still have a pic of it?

We do have confirmation from Legal, and upper management from both establishments, that these calendars are accepted into the production category for each entity! A poll and more informatical post shortly. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a 52 Ford F1 to finish painting, a 70 Cuda cowl to finish welding up, coordinating the delivery of yet another car (details to follow:smile: in yet another thread), stone veneer to hang on my shops, and huge landscaping stones I need to place by the front gate for that warm, rustic lodge look!

Cheers:beers::beers:

Don't let him fool you. Much like for me with Vicki, it's Kelly that is really doing all the work.

BTW; the concept has been approved,

Calendars could be sold at the show each year. November is close to the end of the year and many people are looking for next year's calendar at that time. I'd rather pick up one at the show instead of having it shipped to me.

Dave-

I may have one laying around...I will look for it

A12pilot 10-28-2019 10:28 PM

Excellent, Bruce! Oh, that’ll be the plan next year! While everyone trailers in their own cars, I’ll trailer in my very own, official, one-of-a-kind signing boof for calendars. I’m sure it’ll draw way more attendance than that cool Courtney gal. Matter of fact, I’ll give her complimentary signed calendar!

Alrighty, now that the official words from management have come in, it looks like this project will happen and will require participation from everyone here besides myself.:naughty::laugh

So instead of another thread, let’s just continue this one for ideas! Here’s what I’m thinking; Let’s have a volunteer list of users that want their car featured in the calendar. Then, after we narrow it down to twelve, we’ll vote. Or, if you don’t have a car, what member’s car would you like to see?:hmmm: Also, let’s not limit it to just members cars photos, but also cool show shots too!

Steve had an idea of a 52 week calendar too, since there’s so many cool cars. But for now, let’s limit the first one to a twelve month deal. And what about this:

First calendar is a combo Super Car Registry and MCACN deal with the cars featured having appeared at MCACN and the owners being members of Yenko.net?:scholar:

Whaddaya think???

Cheers:beers:
Dave

big gear head 10-28-2019 11:09 PM

How about that A12 Bee? Do you have any calendar quality pictures of it? Maybe Bruce, Denis or someone has a good shot of it at MCACN 2017? Maybe one with you and Kelly with it?

bashton 10-28-2019 11:53 PM

All I know is that if Kelly is in the calendar, I'll take a pair of them!

Bashton

big gear head 10-29-2019 11:58 AM

Rick Nelson's Yenko Chevelle, Doug Perry's '67 Yenko Camaro, Charlie's '70 Mercury CJ...

There were 2 black '69 396 Chevelles sitting beside each other last year. Phill is one owner. My memory is failing me on the other one. A shot of both cars together might be nice.

A12pilot 10-29-2019 12:24 PM

Great ideas!!

I’ll put in Sam’s Day 2 Chevelle and Frank’s 69 Judge:eek2:
Liking the variety!

Kelly said she’ll be in the calendar only if you’re in the calendar too, oh Maestro of Motorama Muscle Car Mayhem!!

Cheers:beers:
Dave

big gear head 10-29-2019 01:15 PM

Sam, that was the other black car that I couldn't think of. He was next to Phil last year. And Grady has some nice Camaros that were there in 2017.

I was trying to think of some more Ford, Chrysler and AMC products, but I can't think of any members who have had them at MCACN. Maybe someone else can think of some. Charlie had the big black 421 Pontiac there 2 years ago, but has sold that car now. Maybe there are some good pictures of it.

Somebody had a VERY nice Mustang Bullet tribute, but sold it before it got to MCACN. Wonder who that could have been? :hmmm:

A12pilot 10-29-2019 01:59 PM

The AMC Mascar had would be a good one too!

Maybe the cover photo should be of just a tire igniting into smoke with the MCACN logo and the Yenko.net logo rising out of the fumes of the tire turning from a solid state into a gaseous smoke??:burnout:

This year we'll see about getting some good shots of a few other makes/models at MCACN from members. Bruce? Calling Bruce! Come in (psshhhhtttt), over!!!

Cheers:beers:
Dave

Xplantdad 10-29-2019 09:25 PM

Yes sir...reporting for duty. The whole family will be at MCACN. I will take pics of whatever you want me to...lol

Hi Dave-I was able to find the post with who was on the most recent Member's ride calendar, but I struck out finding my calendar? All I could find was the "at a glance" calendar that came with the Member's Rides Calendar...

Got it, Bruce! For some reason I can’t see the thread, but that’s OK. Seems like we are all getting things rolling smoothly! See you in a few weeks!

Man, I feel the excitement! It’s like I’m sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pontiac to appear brining muscle car parts for all the good car people in the world!

Bruce and I will be on the hunt for Calendar Car Considerations, or “Triple C” as I call it for some weird reason. :rolleyes2: And what’s funny about this is Bruce doesn’t even know he’s been selected for this duty!:no:

My plan will be to get some car shots, but also leave a note with the owner to contact me regarding shots of the car in a natural setting, should they wish to participate in the calendar. :cool2:

Looking forward to seeing everyone!! Soooo much freakin’ fun I can’t stands it!!,:headbang:

Cheers:beers:
Dave

I am okay with that...

cook_dw 11-20-2019 11:55 AM

Great idea on this. There will be soooo many cars to choose from.. You will need a poll of like 100 cars just to get it down to 12. OoooooR maybe you start having a yearly calendar.. If someone already mentioned this my apologies.

Burd 11-20-2019 01:07 PM

I did a calendar per one year , I put 12 cars on each page so more that 12 cars got in. Or 13 is all you get in. Most bought them and it did help offset the server fees.
