'67 GTO Convertible, Factory Bench Seat, Nice Paper, Sitting Since '77

First time I've ever seen a '67 with an original bench seat. At first I thought this was a manual column shift car, but I now see it's a TH400.... Not my favorite combo, but has to be rare.

Seen a lot worse for the $20k/obo ask. Original paint and top, too.

WOW, nice find!!! I really like that.

scuncio 11-10-2019 10:29 PM

I agree, I really like it too. Seller just reduced the ask to $18,500....

Niblet 11-11-2019 05:06 PM

needs some qtr panels among other things....another east coast rust find

scuncio 11-11-2019 05:18 PM

No problem for most of us here...it’s a 50 year old car....

Niblet 11-11-2019 05:30 PM

I realize that, I just think that after a car has its qtrs replaced its less valuable IMHO
VERY few can do a qtr panel replacement correctly , again,,all me opinion,,I do like your posts,,

scuncio 11-19-2019 01:44 AM

I think it's absurd to believe that a car with new quarters is somehow worth less...especially when you have guys like Chris White and Rick Nelson who can install the quarter using the same process as GM did.

This GTO is back up for sale in the link below, this time at no reserve...bidding is strong, already over $15k.

I have had many cars with 1/4's replaced, never bothered the buyer

tom406 11-19-2019 04:48 AM

I agree that quarters can be replaced correctly. I also agree that most of the ones I see aren’t done optimally, esp those done back in the day. Right or wrong, it’s a buzzkill for me-my “keepers” have always had original quarters.

Bill Pritchard 11-19-2019 10:40 PM

I would get that running, clean it up good and drive as is.

Hmmm guess I'm not the only one who thinks replaced qtrs. are the kiss of death....

scuncio 11-20-2019 01:34 AM

Guess not.

Niblet 11-20-2019 10:35 PM

If I didn't know any better I would say it seems like your a little bit butt hurt
about my take on replaced quarters....wow,,its only my opinion,,
you don't have to get upset...if you want replaced qtrs. in your cars, then great! but as a buyer I wont even respond to an add that says that

We get it homes. Give it a rest.

Add says it has a swivel bench seat? i see the factory headrests on the bench seat which are pretty rare but never seen a swivel bench seat?

Bill Pritchard 11-21-2019 09:42 PM

Undoubtedly a poor choice of terminology, but I'll bet the seller means that the back of the front seat "swivels" forward to allow easier access to the rear seat. Not unlike many people who refer to the front bench seat in a 2 door car as a "spilt" bench seat :rolleyes2:

2.5 hours left on this one, and bidding is just north of $17k.

Interesting that this car also has the 2bbl option.

wvhylander 11-23-2019 10:43 PM

It would be more appealing with the multiple 2 barrel option.

….except for the fact that it was not available in 67.

Car allegedly sold for $17,200. Someone got a good deal.
