124379N691280 69 Z28 known?

Does anyone know this car? Looking to see the JM report before auction.
Thanks, Doc.

Anyone going to Scottsdale that can possibly lay eyes on the JM report?
Thanks, Doc.

Great colors.

x33rs 12-31-2019 03:23 PM

I'll be there but on Saturday the day after this one and 9 others go off on the Friday before.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk of the 69Z's that BJ has this year. No less than 10 of them all auctioning off on Friday. Pick you color

markinnaples 12-31-2019 04:17 PM

Love Glacier Blue

704EVER 12-31-2019 08:46 PM

That car is smoking and appears to be well done. Perhaps if you registered as a bidder, BJ could forward you a copy of the report. I'm not sure if they would do it for you but it's worth a phone call out to AZ. for sure

x33rs 01-01-2020 12:39 PM

I was always under the impression that if Jerry certified a car, and the paperwork wasn't within reach, a call to him would verify information you seek as he keeps all this stuff on record. Is that not the case?

Mr.Nickey Nova 01-01-2020 01:04 PM

Rockers should be painted black. Looks like a nice Z... There are more cross-rams today than back in the day.

NorCam 01-01-2020 02:40 PM

Very nice colors on this one. I wonder if it coughs and pops through those stock exhaust manifolds with a smog system and crossram on it. It would be needing headers in a big way. I'll have to watch Friday's auctions with so many Z's going up.

rszmjt 01-01-2020 02:49 PM

Nice colours as posted. IMO Car has quite a few issues needing correcting though to bring big $$$.

Jonesy 01-01-2020 06:20 PM

That repop interior could use a little help. Those recovered headrests appear to be straight bar type used on earlier cars of which this is not. The way the fit the seat looks bad.
I would want to see this in person if buying.

I noticed that too Jonesy, easy fix I guess. What’s worse IMO is the rear spoiler has issues , huge gap above 1/4 panels looking from the back. Repo spoiler or trunk lid? Front subframe is caved in too, those would both bother me.

I had one in here a couple years ago for some tuning. Very nicely done fathom green Z. They can be made to run very well if you get intimate with the carbs. Out of the box they kind of suck. They need idle feed circuit mods and a couple other things.

Yes Friday will be a day to watch with 10 69 Z's on the block. This one has a lot going for it. RS, nice colors, cross ram, and pretty nice restoration. If it's everything it looks to be it should bring good money. I watched a cortez silver Z a couple years ago that was converted to RS status, nice restoration with a few issues, sell for $140k and I couldn't believe it. William and I talked about that car, he may remember. May have been the only RS Z that year at auction and wasn't born that way. Prices may be a little softer right now but still wouldn't surprise me to see this one push close to 6 figures.
I like it and wouldn't kick it out of the garage, but I'd rather have the blue with white gut 69 COPO that is also going off on Friday.

markinnaples 01-02-2020 04:22 PM

Yikes, 10 Z's on the block in one day? You'd think that they would spread them around throughout the auction instead of bunching them up on one day, or am I wrong?

x33rs 01-02-2020 05:42 PM

That's what I thought. Only 1 on Saturday.

Barrett-Jackson finally posted a picture of the JM certificate. They claim they do not have the report. Reached out to JM, no reply yet.
Doc.

Obviously a few people did, I believe bidding started at nearly 100? And sold for $150,000 w/ $15,000 buyers fee Whoa !!!!

R68GTO 01-19-2020 01:09 PM

Surprised they didn't address the heavy pitting on thee rear axle tube at the time of resto. Same goes for the crossmember cave-in as noted in an earlier post.

Kurt S 01-19-2020 07:04 PM

Glacier blue looks great on a Z, esp a RS!

316 VIN's after my COPO.

KLars1 01-20-2020 03:12 AM

blue standard interior but they restored it with white?

Kurt S 01-20-2020 05:05 AM

Missing the second page. Not clear if it was an RS originally or not.
And the wrong/white interior was a bad call, IMO.

NorCam 01-20-2020 01:34 PM

A few days ago, Jerry had posted a rear view of the blue car. I posted a comment about the rear stripes being too long and also asked about it being an RS or not. He confirmed the stripes being wrong and running right up toward the window trim, but failed to answer the question asking if the Z22 option was factory or not.

Obviously 2 bidders really liked the car enough to hammer out the price.

KLars1 10-25-2020 04:19 AM

same car? If so, sounds like the buyer wasn't going to be denied of this one.

R68GTO 10-25-2020 12:15 PM

If his car then something doesn't line up. Guy that bought it says his had a white interior BITD. This one has it now but was originally blue interior.

Danzo 10-25-2020 01:06 PM

Same car, also claims it had white stripes which would require a white vinyl top. This on is 53-53. Makes for a good read

Jonesy 10-25-2020 01:28 PM

This will be interesting. Selling at no reserve.

WorkinProgress 10-25-2020 03:50 PM

The JM report says this under paint condition, "the original color for this car is Glacier blue with black stripes".

Did this car originally come with a black vinyl roof?

No the cowl tag says 53-53 paint with is painted top.

Steve Shauger 10-25-2020 04:24 PM

No. 53-53

WorkinProgress 10-25-2020 04:34 PM

Well, since they did not post a picture pf the trim tag and I am not familiar with Glacier Blue paint, I thought the stripe color was white on Z/28s unless it came with a black vinyl roof? Of course a Dover White car would come with black stripes.

- Warren

WorkinProgress 10-25-2020 04:44 PM

Just received a chart showing the stripe usage. Black stripes did come on Glacier Blue with no vinyl top.

This is the first Glacier Blue Z/28 I have seen.
