Nova L88 hood help

Looking for thoughts on who makes the best L88 hoods for 69 70 Novas. Need one to clear a pair of dual quads. Thanks

Depending on the intake, an L-88 hood may not provide the needed clearance. I was running a tunnel ram and dual quads on my Camaro and had to use a big snorkle to clear.

A stinger hood might look good with a hole cut and velocity stacks poking through.

I put a fiberglass L88 hood on my Nova about 20 years ago and I believe it came from US Body. I was white or light gray and had quite a bit of reinforcement inside and was very sturdy.

Here is a Nova with L-88 hood and Tunnel Ram.

Another idea.

This doesn't have the tunnel ram. Just an Offy dual quad setup. But I like that Nova.

I was at VFN just last month picking up something before all this happened. :(

Agreed, I do not think the L88 has the room under it for a tunnelram and carbs? Guess it depends on the tunnelram. I know my '69 BB with strip dom intake, the carb is higher than the fenders. So I think you'll be cutting the hood.

Also I'm not a fan of that "Mopar" hood posted above? Like the member have stated, snorkel style or maybe a "Grump Lump" to clear the tunnelram.

I think Schony is looking for a hood to clear this type of duel quad intake manifold https://www.jegs.com/images/photos/300/350/350-7525.jpg

Dual Quad Hood...

Won't two carburetors use a lot of gas ?? :cool2::cool2:

always loved the L88 & Stinger styles but the "Grump" Lump will clear and are way Cool also, But I have a feeling the early Snorkel Style will start coming back soon ? they look really good on some cars

Yep. That's the intake type we have.

I have some good folks trying to get a, or some new ones made with the underside inner structure. L88 hoods on Novas have always been my favorite going back to the Monroe give away car in 69. I have an old L88 hood squirreled away for a 67-69 camaro. Hope to put that on a 67 project camaro someday. Problem is I have more potential projects that years left to live.

I have 2 for 68-72 Nova Ken. I don't mind parting with one but shipping might be a pain. i think both have had repairs done over the years and one needs a repair now.

Thanks Tommy. I might need to go that direction if I can't talk this place into making me a new one. I think there's a good market for them if somebody started making good quality ones.
