My day 2 Belair Bubbletop
8 Attachment(s)
I have a black with red interior restored to perfection 409/409 horse bubbletop but this is the one I enjoy.
|
Love the alternator, is that the hard one to find?
|
Now there's a sweet looking ride. Love everything about it!
|
The alternator was optional for taxi, police and I have seen them on a fire chief's wagon.

Be Still My Beating Heart!
Mick you are my HERO! Dan |
Thanks, being white these photos doesn't really show off the finish on this car it is much more impressive in person.
|
If I win the lottery, I'll be in touch.
|
Wow!
|
Love it Mick!
|
Very nice, what size wheel/tire are you running on the back, are those radirs ?
I have a '62 bubble I'm building to resemble an old super stock car from the early '60s. Yours has the look. |

This 1962 is perfect! |
Yep one amazing car!
Among a great collection of amazing cars. Mic has an eye to see the potential of a car and won’t give up until it’s right. Great guy and enthusiast of our hobby. Joe |
Very nice!! I would love to have that one! :3gears:
|
The rear tires is 8.20X15 MT Radir Dragster tires and the front is ProTrac 70 P225/70D15. Yes the wheels are Radir and don't think if you go with this combination changing the rear tires will be easy because you will be disconnecting the shocks and may be pulling the drive shaft yoke to gain clearance enough to pull them, deflating the slicks also helps. Good news is they don't rub.
|
That is a right fine looking ‘mobile you have there! Love it!!!!
:3gears::3gears::3gears: |
How fast is it?!
Very Kool car!! |
Alright Mick........you suck!
That thing is SPECTACULAR! |
Awesome car, Mick. You've had a bunch of nice stuff but this might be my favorite. Gotta do something with that battery though.

Beautiful car, well done. Love the wheels and tires and stance.
Here is my friends 409 4 x2. original car with original paint and interior. Yes original paint. My friend bought it in 1966 from the original owner. I think it had 400--500 miles on it and it sat because the original owner spun a bearing the first or second year he owned it. My friend added the Ford dump truck scoop, Cragars and Jardine white fenderwell headers etc back in 67-69 era. Had SW gauges inserted into dash panel-looked stock. He sold in the mid 2000's B-J run up craze. Current owner put it all back to 100% stock dog dish and all. Ruined it. |
Very nice!
I have a '62 hardtop and pie crust slicks and I have to drop the shocks to get the axle far enough down to get them in the fender well too. Those quarter panels drop down quite low at the wheel opening. |
I saw this car at the very first Super Chevy Show at Joliet back in 1998. It looked exactly as it does now. That's the only time I ever saw it and I've wondered what happened to it. Is it an original 409/409 car?

Someone asked earlier for me to post pictures of my black bubbletop. After looking thru my camera cards I see I have lost the only ones I had taken. This picture has the black bubble and two others I owned when this picture was taken.
|
----Mick,,,Have always loved the Zintsmaster 409. Terry Carney took me to look at it when the Chevy dealer owned it (not Zintsmaster, but I can't remember the name). Long time ago. must have been in the mid 80's......Bill S
|
Yes Sam Pierce of Sam Pierce Chevrolet bought the car from John Zintsmaster in 1988, Sam sold it to John Been in Atlanta Georgia in 2007, I bought it from John B. in 2012 and later sold it to Ray Skillman in 2014 where it sits on display in his museum just outside Indy. The car still retains about 85% of its original paint, 100% of the original interior, it even has the born with front tires and spare still in the car today.
|
----Old age rearing it's ugly head again as I know Sam fairly well (great guy). Hope Ray appreciates it as it is a piece of history!.....Bill S
|
I think Ray does appreciate the car and best of all it is in the right place for the car now. Its back with an Indiana dealer as it was when it was new and better yet Ray is a drag racer also. it is very fitting as it is written on the car Indiana's fastest trader.
