Thanks for letting us know, Charley!

NorCam 09-10-2020 03:03 PM

Sad to hear, but expected that was coming. Lets hope next year is a success.

Canuck 09-10-2020 03:05 PM

Looking forward to 2021.

NorCam 09-10-2020 03:06 PM

Maybe someone can arrange an online version for this year featuring a host of the cars that were to attend and have voting from the viewers. Just a thought to help drive a program. Paid entry fees and prizes by those who wish to show online using a set group of required pictures?

Jonesy 09-10-2020 03:07 PM

Dang, that really sucks. Was looking forward to attending this again. Looking forward to 2021!!!

Postsedan 09-10-2020 03:19 PM

Bring on 2021......Nothing Good about 2020.
See you all next year.....it will be amazing next year!
We all know how it gets better and better each year.....can you all imagine how awesome it will be with another 12 months of networking :)

Be safe.

Dan

I was more concerned with the protests and riots than covid19.

TimG 09-10-2020 03:28 PM

Charley, thank you for letting us know well in advance. This was our last great hope for a fun show this year. I understand the reasons, but still sad.

Burd 09-10-2020 03:43 PM

Have it outdoors. Like a 1 day event. Better than nothing.

big gear head 09-10-2020 03:56 PM

November in Chicago isn't real good for outdoor car shows. It's snowed most of the times that I've been there.

SS427 09-10-2020 04:03 PM

Many of us assumed it was coming just based on the status of Chicago and Illinois but still sad to hear. I commend the whole team from MCACN for letting us all know now and not on the eve or day of the show which is what happened to many people this spring out east. Some paid for transportation while others drove for hours only to get to the show and then being told it was canceled. The fact that your team brought it to the front now says a lot for all. This will hurt MACAN financially but hopefully next year it will bring twice the spectators as everyone has had their fill of Covid and politics and will be looking for some real fun.

Burd 09-10-2020 04:15 PM

Why November then

RPOLS3 09-10-2020 04:45 PM

Bummer.....but good to know now.

hurstL78 09-10-2020 04:52 PM

Even though we knew it was probably going to be canceled, I still had hope. It’s saddening to actually find it out.
I’m sure 2021 will be better than ever!

It's worked well for 10 years. Not sure this is the time for a blaze of questions........

Mcacn

Understand but still stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

72-SS-L48 09-10-2020 06:23 PM

Sorry to hear it but it was the right decision to make. See you all in 2021.

Best,
Dave

BCreekDave 09-10-2020 07:58 PM

MCACN program

Not sure if it has gone to the printers yet, but I would be interested in buying at least the 2020 program.

Damien 09-10-2020 08:19 PM

A tough decision by those involved but no doubt the correct decision.
Hopefully 2021's show exceeds all expectations!

Burd 09-10-2020 08:51 PM

No blaze, a quickie is better than nothing.

tom406 09-10-2020 09:59 PM

I talked to a friend this morning about the cancellation. We both committed to 2021 attendance to help make sure MCACN comes back strong. Hope to see you all there.

wheelhop 09-10-2020 10:50 PM

Should have moved the venue to Indiana or Wisconsin for 2020.

455HO POST 09-10-2020 11:13 PM

I would Also buy a 2020 Program if Printed.

So very true Dan.
I wish I could say this was unexpected but, truth be told, I'm not at all surprised.
I wish the entire MCACN Team the best and have full confidence that the 2021 Event will be EPIC!
It's sad that we won't see some of you for another year but for now,

EVERYONE, .... Please stay safe and healthy.

ME TOO. Anything we can do to help offset some of the costs incurred! :headbang:

flyingn 09-11-2020 02:21 AM

Absolutely! :) :youguysrock:

goernie28 09-11-2020 03:58 PM

And I was really hoping to see Charley's Cyclone in person this year.

Oh well. Understandable and expected, but still disappointing. My wife and I had gotten into an every other year routine with MCACN, so this was our year. We were going to bring our son, who is 5 1/2, for the first time. We will just be raring to go next year.

Again, thanks to everyone who puts so much work into the show every year. It is truly fantastic.

Northernforce 09-12-2020 12:59 AM

Look on the bright side-you can meet me in person in 2021-I was planning on attending this year but since the border is shut down to travel by car and won't be open in November I decided not to attend -if I flew in I would of had to quarantine for 14 days when I returned home -stay safe everyone!!
Keep on cruising!
Dave

Bummer...but under the present circumstances, it was inevitable. Is there any indication if the hotels will honor out reservations for next year?
Cheers
Cal

carnut4life 09-12-2020 04:49 AM

What a bummer, this would have been our ninth year in a row. No doubt it will be back stronger than ever next year since it's the best muscle car show on earth. I'm officially ready to kiss 2020 goodbye now!

I spoke to the Doubletree Hotel yesterday and they are fully aware of the cancellation of MCACN for 2020. They have provided 2 options; You can get a full refund or...keep your reservation and apply it to the 2021 event. If you select the first option, be prepared to wait for the refund, it will take a while to process.
